let me begin by saying that i've found this forum to be a great place to discuss ideas, and ask questions. more or less, by sharing knowledge, we are increasing our rate of learning.

so, i've got another question for ya'll out there...

at the risk of sounding schizophrenic or otherwise "mentally ill", from time to time, i have seen floating balls of light... there, i said it...

almost a year ago, my "awakening" began, and from there my learning has been fast paced and "exponential". once i chose that i would co-create a positive future, focusing on love, and not fear, weird things began to happen.

i'm a community college math teacher, so, needless to say, i'm around alot of people daily. after i embraced a path of love, a sense of peace overcame my "being". some days, i felt so light that i thought i would float away. weird, but a great feeling none-the-less. then, it happened. one of my students brought her young daughter to class - nothing terribly out of the ordinary. while lecturing, i suddenly noticed a "floating ball of while light" off to my right, between me and this mother-daughter. it was about the size of a quarter, so nothing extreme here folks. i had to keep my composure, so i kept going with teaching and passively observed it. using my logical mindset, i thought, well, it may be the after effects of staring at a fluorescent light and looking off another direction. however, this light was in a space and moved independent of where my eyes were focused. i don't know where it came from or ultimately where it went, but it was phenomenal.

then, just a few weeks ago, it happened again. i was messing with the projector, and i saw a similar light traveling from my "space", along the floor, towards another student. the same - i don't know where it came from or ultimately where it went. again, i had to keep my composure, but thought, wow, here we go again!

so, its not something that happens frequently, or predicatbly. just the opposite. as a side note, it does happen at times when i feel "on top of things" and extremely happy and peaceful.

now, back to the point - i've tried researching this and haven't had any luck. and, to head off any "doubters", i know what "seeing stars" is like (when your dizzy). these events were not like that.

any info, ideas, help would be greatly appreciated. currently, i feel these phenomena happened to reinforce the steps/paths i'm taking towards my own spiritual development. i don't try to force these events to occur, they just do and i notice...

great story, art. it's amazing how many varied experiences different people have. i've never seen floating lights in my daily experience like you have. sounds wondrous, especially given your report about these incidents occurring at times when you are feeling "on top of things and extremely happy and peaceful."

i'm assuming these balls of light are just visible to you, yes? it would be quite amazing, of course, if others could see them too. but, given the times, it wouldn't surprise me if they could, either.

dear art,
isn't the great mystery awesome?! your name art implies right brain, and your occupation as a math teacher is left brained. the spiritual awakening you're experiencing is creating a balancing of the polarities, which opens up new dimensions of being. your heart and your brain are communicating and you're beginning to tap into levels of divinity as the veils between the dimension become thin. have you ever considered that the light you're seeing is a product of your now-opened chakras? there is a saying, "send light before you." perhaps the love and the lightness you're feeling is emating from your own being, to share with those whom you come into contact. you're a blessing and your students are learning more than just math from you!

i wonder if these "balls of light" are the same as what others describe as orbs. i have a couple of friends that have photographed them. one acquaintance regularly visits john of god in brazil and comes back with awesome pictures of orbs from various locations (not necessarily from the john of god site). they are beautiful. pictures have been taken during daylight and at night and turn out equally as well.

another friend lives in san francisco and takes pictures outside from her balcony (just randomly) and will have some pictures of no orbs but some with 2 - 3 per frame. she usually takes the pictures at night. she came here (rural location in foothills of sierra nevada) one night and she took some pictures - maybe 12. there were visible orbs in about 5 of the pictures.

so, it is all very interesting and fun. i don't know what they are but something is there. if you do a web search on orbs, there is one website with many pictures and journals by the photographers of this activity.

until a couple of years ago i had only heard of these kind of circles of light from books. last year a friend sent me a picture of her family with a large beautiful orb in the background. this winter while looking at pictues coming up on my screensaver i saw one i took years ago with a small orb of light in the background. this has happened with several pictures now. i have only recently started seeing these orbs, although its obvious now that they've been around us for years.

i don't focus on needing explanations for these things like i once did...experiences come either when i need them or when i'm ready for them. i do find the orbs beautiful and so far they've shown up in pictures with loved ones. i just realized i can post an image here...i'll have to find a picture to share if you're interested.

oh yes!

i can relate to your words and i am finding this not "weird" or strange anymore- just a normal part of my being.

these "orbs" and sometimes when i am attuned to the blue skies, i can see thin gold or sometimes white rays out of nowhere.

yes, on occasion, i have taken pictures of this phenomena and i can see them on the final product:)

it is a great feeling to connect with others that are experiencing similar events as this just confirms or rather "validates" my own experiences and this includes the oneness connection of all.

thanks for sharing your experiences. no rays here, but i do see something when looking at the sky. when outside and focused (trying to meditate, eyes open), i stare up at the sky. of course we're looking for a nice, clear day here. i'll orient myself to the sun, then turn 180 degrees so as to not be "blinded". i find a "blank spot of blue" and stare. there are times when i see many ultra-tiny white lights just moving, bouncing, etc., doing their own thing. this is a different experience from the orbs mentioned in the original post.

i haven't "decided" how to interpret these "events" - typically its not difficult and happens more frequently/predictably. it takes the right amount of focus and patience... as a kid back in the good old 80's i'd see what looked like tiny "archery targets" slowly falling out of the sky. more or less a darker ring around a dark spot in the middle. ususally see this while riding with mom somewhere...

a conversation with míceál ledwith is it in the eye of the beholder or itself a beholder?

there was no way i was going to miss the opportunity talk with míceál ledwith, [pronounced me-haul] who with klaus heinemann authored 'the orb project' . i actually ended up going directly from my chat with michael pollan over to [specific book company]so that i had at a least a few minutes with the man who had a collection of over 150,000 photographs of orbs – which he and many others believe to be intelligent spiritual entities that have something to say to us mere humans.

ledwith told me about the various levels of reality that each variety of orb inhabits, and explained how he knows that they are not merely dust motes on the lens. the book itself is filled with gorgeous and occasionally frightening photographs, and it's essentially two books between one set of covers. each writer takes about 90 pages to give his perspective on the phenomenon; they have very different approaches. lediwth is a theologian, and his perspective is spiritual, as was his journey from being part of a commission that advised pope john paul ii to his current work with orbs. heinemann is a physicist, and his journey is one of theory. together, they give a thorough look at this very strange phenomenon.

you don't have to believe that these images are indeed spirits that inhabit other levels of reality to find their presence and discussion of interest. for me, i find the people who discuss them – and what they have to say about them – as fascinating as the various theories put forward to describe, and yes, dismiss them. we live in a reality that is difficult to share with others, and photographs are one this world's best ways of bridging the gap from one person to the other. and perhaps from one reality to another as well.

and this morning i apparently had a green orb checking me out when i took some pics at sunrise on the beach!

first let me say that last night i really meditated and asked to see something, anything, an alien or have a pre-cog dream, something to make me feel like i'm in the loop of all this good stuff!

in the first two pics i took today, within a minute or two of each other there is a green orb, it isn't a 'trick of the light' as it's in two pics and the other pic it is off to the other side of the sun at a different angle yet still the same size and color.

it's not a water spot either as the two spots aren't in the same position when you overlay the photographs.

anyway, i can tell you that while i adjusted the saturation of the colors in photoshop, i didn't modify the picture, so here it is - my green orb!

early morning today on the beach i took some snapshots, marveling at how blue the ocean looked and how gold the sun was, then i took a closer look at the pics in photoshop and expected to see some optical effects from the light (perhaps even a green orb as before (http://www.divinecosmos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11022)) but what the heck is the pink donut?

how can light show up as a donut shape?? a beam of light is one thing, we all understand that, and rainbows are light rays splitting into their component spectrums but how does light make a smoke ring shape? how is that even possible?

i adjusted the saturation of the color but nothing else and that is definitely a donut shape in the pink light with the violet lightblue and green light in the middle.

is this a torsion field maybe???

crickey, i went back and checked most of the other pics and that thing is definitely a thing, not a mark on the lens as in some pics it isn't there and others in different spots (the camera is set at max size so they are all the same size).
i thought maybe it might have been some tiny tiny bug (but i took the last pic on the other side of that pier ruin which is a good five minute walk and then i spent some time drawing on the sand before taking the next pic and the thing is still there, and just about the same size too which is spooky.

this looks like that green orb i caught on film before (http://www.divinecosmos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11022) has a pink aura now! the thing is the same size in all the pics but not in the same place which makes me think it's like a balloon or a kite attached to me, is that some kind of projection of my soul???

(i'm not looking for attention just an answer or a guess!)

if you can do this, although it might be too late, try and switch lenses. maybe next time, if it still happends when you switch lenses, then it would be weird.
im just trying to help and debug, its a way of eliminating options to see if it reoccures or if its a lens distortion....

i don't have the type of camera where you can change lenses!
besides, if it is a flaw in the lens, dirt, smudge etc there would be some consistency in the pics, at the very least the colors of the anomaly would be different depending on the angle of the light and what about the pics where the light is similar but there's no trace of the anomaly?

and how does a flaw show the same thing at different angles? look at the pink donut in those pics it's definitely at different angles!

if we can't figure out what this is, and there's no way i can be the only person to have had this show up on a digital snapshot right? then who?

dazcox, great shot. as you mentioned, the 1st shot of the deep blue water, almost cobart, against the golden sun has great color. it almost appears like a opening up from the 1st picture shooting the other donut hole image out.

i see the rays of the sun, quite powerful and bright; to the left, there is a slight image of the green-pink. is that image shooting up, rather than down? back to the sun ?

anyway, just throwing out 1st thoughts..

ps: the close up of the green/pink item (2nd), see the red=pink shades all around in the sand and orb....

i am a photographer and this looks like a 'lens flare'. the different colors 'purple' and 'green' are form the different lens elements having different colored 'coatings'.

it looks like you used a pentax optio e10 for this image and this p&s has a zoom lens quivalent of 34-102mm so this means there are many lens elements in there moving as you zoom in and out.

also most of your pictures were taken at f/5.6 which is probably in the middle range of the aperture for your camera. this means that the aperture opening is large enough for light to internallt reflect inside the lens to create a 'flare'. i am sure that the 'orbs' would have been minimized with the use of a smaller aperture like a f/11 or f/16 if not f/22 or f/32.

the difference in the position of the 'color orbs' is from the angle that the direct sunlight comes in to the lens and reflects internally. this would vary greatly because of the small lens with multiple moving elements. the relative position of the sun (and factor in the tilt of the camera as well) and the lens elements in each of the photo looks like its between 8 to 15 degrees. the one that has an absence of 'orbs' is directly straight looking into the sun hence no visible 'orbs'. in the other pictures, the sun is either to the left or right of the center of the picture so the intensity and shape of the 'orbs' differ. they are just lens flares really.

daz..whatever, the one blowup there is probably the best visual rendition of a toroidal energy manifestation i have ever seen! in the picture, i can sense the crux between a coming out and going within.

it's a lens flare,

look at the position of the sun. the flare is gone once you focus the sun at the middle of the pic. the "orb" is always the opposite of the sun. i.e if sun is at the left, the "orb" is at the right and vice versa. your pic proves it.

how come you get the idea that it is torsion field? i haven't studied it that much yet, maybe somebody can brief?

but i do agree that the colour of the "orb" is beautiful.

hello all,

does anyone here have any pictures of orbs? i believe that orbs are real. recently i was looking around on ebay, doing a metaphysical search for different things. i found a guy who .....has pictures showing a very bright orb over a muffin sized orgone energy device. he also makes different orgone energy device. he is also asking for any one to prove him wrong, the pictures of the orbs that is. i believe that this guy is onto something big.

in an english tv-series about spirits "haunting" different places, the mediums and other participants often see orbs. they signal the presence of a spirit. also on photographs the energy of a spirit can be captured.

i would like to draw upon the wondrous diversity and depth of the members of this forum to open a discussion, be it the group groove, about orbs in particular, and associative paranormal photography in general.

for those unfamiliar with the orb phenomena, since the introduction of digital cameras in particular, but obviously in the form of balls of light both witnessed and on film, orbs appear as just that - balls of light, or bubbles, or sometimes streaking bubbles, within digital photographs taken almost always with the flash. to some they are angels, to others, they are but dust. (regardless, i believe a speck of dust can be as infinitely conscious as any angel!)

obviously, within the dichotomy and duality of this 3d reality there have been as wide and opinionated a spread of overt "believers" and dyed-in-the-wool skeptics as there are in any highly subjective field of research.

here are but a smattering of the sites one may delve into on the topic of orbs (and i will say that these represent some of both the best pictures, and the more reasonably balanced views of the orb phenomena). i think the orbgoddess has some tremendous photos, and many of you may already be familiar with the eceti site and james gilliland from other threads here.

i have personally been doing research into orbs and other paranormal photographic phenomena since january of 2006. while there is little i could say as to what orbs truly are (i have had no telepathic or other, more direct contact with the orbs as many claim to have) that is not hypothetical, i can certainly attest to the significance of the synchronicity, the subjective connectivity with orbs through the digital photographic medium.

i've never seen much out of the ordinary.
kinda bums me out when i hear of all these other amazing things people see and i get nothing.

however about 1 or 2 months ago i saw like a little floating half transparent orb thing right where i sit to type as the computer, about the size of a pea.
and it just moved slowly across under the monitor for about 3 or 4 seconds before i lost track of it.
i'm still not sure if it was real or something completely boring.

i use firefox, and have found that using piclens for the photo albums is great. it blows up photos that have been cropped to full size, so one can really get a good look at small details.

i had came home from a friends house and i was over whelmed and started to pray to god. then i started to worship him, saying thank you for all he had done. (i had previously been in a deep depression and having sucidal thought consistantly but in thoughs recent months it started to leave). i was crying and everything and this all went on for about an hour. when i was done i opened my eyes and over my bed was a floating ball of light and it stayed there for 10-20 secs. i wanted to go and touch it but i was afriad if i did it would be gone.

i was just so amazed and filled with love at that time. it really helped to change me as a person.

on a side note. this happened some three years ago [drug reference removed] and one year ago i was dianosed with schizophrenia. if some of you choose not to belive me or take me serious than oh well.but i still know what i experiences wasnt a part of either of those.

i've seen them too, my first encounter was in a log cabin with no electricity. that day while alone in the cabin i decided to communicate to the “universe” directly and i said i’m willing to help in any way to bring whatever changes are coming that will benefit mankind.

in the middle of the night i saw a bright white orb of light (it flashed in and out from time to time). the weird thing was the light it cast didn’t create light on the walls round it; it didn’t illuminate like a flashlight would, but had the same quality of brightness.

my friend also got them video with his cell phone, his house was super haunted and he took some video in the dark, you could clearly see 3 orbs flying around (again not illuminating the area). it was chilling.

beginning in the early to mid-1990s, when robbert van den broeke was just a teenager, he began to regularly record strange objects and light phenomena in his photographs. in some instances he would see something unusual prior to taking photos, but often the anomalies were only apparent on the developed film (or, since 2002, on the led screen of his digital camera). by now (spring, 2009) robbert has taken literally thousands of bizarre photographs—using many different cameras--most of which have been catalogued by date in an archive which i estimate must contain a minimum of 10,000 photographs.

i have been visiting robbert and his family for 10 years, usually spending 2-3 weeks each summer with them in their home in hoeven, holland. during this time i have personally witnessed a variety of amazing incidents, most of which have included the production by robbert of hundreds of anomalous photographs. i have observed him closely as he has taken an enormous range of very strange photos, using several different cameras in both daytime and at night—and i have never seen any indication that he has deliberately manipulated either the cameras or the physical environment to produce these bizarre events or the photographic images.

since i am aware that photographic images can be manipulated and because i am not technically sophisticated myself, i have enlisted the expertise of an mit-trained analyst in evaluating many of robbert's images and have also carried out some control experiments myself. at the end of each section i've provided the relevant results from these exercises.

additionally, although i have seen many of the thousands of photographs taken by robbert when i have not been present—and although those photographs are every bit as curious as those contained in this report—it seemed sensible that, in this introductory report, i use primarily those photos taken by robbert while he was in my presence and using my camera. during the early years i paid close attention to everything he did, and didn't, do. in recent years i have sometimes been less rigorous, although i have continued to devise new strategies in my attempts to figure out what is going on.

i've seen a number of floating lights. generally only once you've worked to open your 3rd eye and can maintain that for an extended period of time, however your favorite of method of doing that may be.

once you accomplish that, all one needs to do is walk outside and look up at the sky. daylight or at night, there almost always balls of light in the sky to the trained eye.

one night camping in the woods after a spiritual day i had a close encounter with a flying ball of light that no one else saw or noticed. it had a willow-o-wisp feel, like a guardian spirit, and it just spent some time around the campsite and then left.

this past weekend my husband and i went up to the woods for a weekend. friday night we were having a discussion on the universe etc. he has always been a skeptic one of the mind that believes after seeing. so i had asked the universal consciousness to "let him see"... the next night we decided to take a walk on the rail trail behind the cabin. this was about 11:30 at night i decided to bring along my camera. i took pictures along the way. i decided i wanted to take a picture of the trail behind us and what i saw in my camera amazed me. a bright colorful orb filled with a colorful geometric spiral! we were both speechless.... i snapped another picture and the orb was further down the trail and to the right of the path the 3rd pic it was gone totally... anyway i've never seen this before. but i think its amazing.

type in angel orbs on google search, and click the first link (or if you're feeling lucky, feel lucky).

read the bible verses through, and look at the pictures. and if you have some time, read the words on the page too.

it's a pretty thing to be noteworthy of if you're taking pictures, in room environments or dim lightning around.

never be alone again! always know that the holy spirit is traveling with these wheel creatures.

hi all,

i was looking at some photos that i have taken in a place that i love very very much by the way), and i noticed a strange light in some of them.
i have made a little video, and downloaded it in youtube, and i wanted to share with you guys to help me understand what is that light!

maybe it is just a reflection from the sunlight in the length of the camera, but still....

note: there was no reflecting objects in my clothe and no water on the ground.. . only grass. and in the sequence of photos you can see that i am walking around the terrace, meaning they were taken in near, but different places...

well, just wondering and hopping any one can give an idea of what a ... is that light!

hi...i am new to this forum...and i also almost never talk about things that happen to me at the risk of sounding "strange" ...
i like taking pictures and frequently there are these orbs of light that you mention...yes my camera is digital...but these orbs appear in different conditions...i also have a picture of an orb i took with an analog camera many years ago...
last week i was high up in the peruvian andes, at aout 15,000 ft aove sea level and there is a ball of light in movement in one of the pictures i took...

hi

i have had a lot of pictures of orbs, i use to call spirit or just say orbs to ask if they could come and show themselves, one incidence i was messing around wth my camera it was hubbys birthday and there were so many in the room. another occassion a group of us were in a garden i just said lets hold hands cant remember why, then i had the urge to get my camera, the picture is fall of them, amazing..

the other day at the vegifest in thailand there were loads of orbs around one has a ladies face in..

if i can find some pictures, is it okay to share with people here? i did have a computer clear out and know that a lot of pictures have gone, but i am sure i kept the important onces.

i know some theory is also moisure in the air, in thailand is very moist or high humitidy so it could be said these orbs could be moisure but having said that, i did not get orbs on every picture i took, so for that i would say they were orbs..

another time i also pics with dust in the air by shaking things, took pics, no orb/dust mark.. i know a little bit of topic to the start of thread, but as orbs were mentioned i wanted to share my experiences..

i have seen pin prick energy zoom past in front of me, then i hav got my camera out and clicked away and capture, all very interesting...

well some of these orbs also look just like the ones making cropcircles and like the big ufo-orbs that were caught on a video in this thead so it seems to be a matter of manifested energy from other dimensions "dead or alive"..

i have been seeing light energy for a few years now. am not sure if they are orbs as some people here describe?

what i see are the most stunning flashes of colour-usually dark/light blue or purple. sometimes they are perfect circles and sometimes they are less clearly defined-some small some bigger. they often appear when i'm in a high life state- feeling happy and animated and creative or sometimes one will flash for a second when i'm just relaxing. i don't know what or who they are but they are just so beautiful! i love it when they appear and am always willing them to do so.
the other week i was chanting and was going to get up and go the computer and a light blue colour flashed just to my left. it was as if it was telling me to stay put- this is what i felt intuitively. i stayed where i was for a while longer! i wonder what they are? are they beings from another dimension or simply 'new energy' coming in as we move into higher consciousness? who knows but it is wondrous!:)
