Hello all:

What i am going to share is not related with the main topic of this group. But
perhaps
someone can give me some ideas to deal with this.
I am suffering from chronic insomnia like from 3 years. At most i sleep
without waking up 6 hours straight but that is rare.. usually like 4 or 5 hours
and then i wake up and try to sleep some more..
I am going to therapy it kind of helps but i am still having this problem.
Sleeping pills dont work for me. i tried some but its the same

Ok thanks
Regards

It's probably because there are tons of physical and energetic garbage
running through your system, I'd recommend a fast. (As a test, try
fasting for one or two days and see what happens). But even if one or
two days does little, that doesn't reflect the results of a longer
fast. I've heard there's sometimes a link between 'supression' and
sleep difficulties.

Sleep in most cases is linked with the root chakra. It is when we are
ungrounded that people get that 'anxiety' associated with over
thinking. The root chakra is especially improved with exercise, and
refraining from you-know-what, diet (yeah, classic) and your
relationship with the earth. As in, do you spend enough time on the
earth and feel comfortable around it.

Hey Mariano

firstly please dont take this as me downplaying your pain,

now... a doctor should be struck-off for prescribing you medication
for this, its totally not nescessary & only makes the problem MUCH
worse.
if you can sleep for 3 or 4 hours without waking then count your self
lucky, man you dont need pharmaceuticals or therapy. your totally
normall.
your body is just a bit out of wack, the biggest thing i'd recommend
is exercise in whatever form you like, just get out & about, walk,
play golf or whatever, dont just walk round the block, work up a
sweat.
this will have an effect on your brain chemistry and your body,
there is other things that will effect sleep, like diet, state of
mind & etc.
if your a worrier then try chilling out, as we all know worring is a
complete waste of energy and time. when your trying to sleep, just
clear your mind, try listening to the outside world without focusing
on anything paticular. it may take a few minutes to achive but will
get easyier the longer you try.

hope thats of some use to you.

peace

No i know that drugs dont work. Yes its not that annoying, just that i used to
have no problems, do you think its normal sleeping 3 or 4 hours without waking
up? I guess
in the end what matters is not the hours that you sleep but if you feel fine
the other day.
And i like to go to therapy i think it helps to tell someone my problems and
have another opinion though in the end it all comes down to what you do , think
and decide..
thanks cj
i ll try to relax

Dear Mariano,
I also have a problem sleeping and have tried many things with no help.... I
dont have any answers but I know how you feel... I have also tried standard
pills and herbal remedies and nothing has really helped either.

I also do exactly like you said and try and get more sleep but cant. I also
always seem to wake up at 4am for some reason...

L&L & sincerely,
Jeff

Dear Mariano,
I sleep very little also. Think what bare was getting at was inquiry
about a more meditative practice...as way to more inner peace, since
meditation uses this component of seeking inside. Cayce also spoke of
early morning hours as best time for this. Recall both Cayce and DW
sharing their experiences during this time of quiet before world
stirs. Everyone offered good. Robin's post nudged me to say that I'm
trying too.
Last DW reading, "When you can still the mind, relax and move into the
trust of love, you will find from that gentleness comes understanding;
from your own safety in the sanctity of your being comes a foundation
that lets you know that safety extends throughout all creation."
Steiner: "When you meditate, you are performing the only completely
free activity there is in human life." Cayce, "Why worry when you can
pray?"(continued with - when you can't pray then you'll have something
to worry about!") Let's have our alertness be an advantage - NINA

I just had to get in on this discussion. You know, IÃÂà ƒÂƒÃ‚‚‚ÂàƒÃ‚ƒÃ‚‚´ve NEVER
understood what people are talking about when they discuss insomnia.
IÃÂà ƒÂƒÃ‚‚‚ÂàƒÃ‚ƒÃ‚‚´ve never slept more than 2 hours at a stretch in my whole life. I
used to drive my Mom mad when I was a baby as I would simply not
sleep. Who says what is normal ? IÃÂà ƒÂƒÃ‚‚‚ÂàƒÃ‚ƒÃ‚‚´ve lived a totally full life
without the
pressures of anyone telling me I " should" be sleeping a particular
number of hours.

Perhaps that is the whole problem ? being pressured into thinking one
is not functioning " normally" ? But, what is normal, and who
determines what that is ? I use my time to read, write, work and
learn. I enjoy the quietness of the night. I am a firm believer in
the fact that we should trust our instincts and not what we are told
is " good for us"

Blessings
Anne

Hey Mariano

if your sleeping 3-4 hours without waking then thats good,
try get atleast eight hours, and get into a set time pattern, after
awhile you wont even need an alarm clock.
at different ages we have different sleeping patterns, as teenages we
went to bed late and got up late, or just got up late, that was the
cycle at that age, not necessarily lack of sleep, motivation or other
factors. but we're all different, so what go's for one might not be
true for another.
about the REM sleep, needing 4-6 hours, im not so sure, as i said
were all different, myself, i can go into deep sleep within minutes,
or just after waking up in early morning, go back into a deep sleep,
and can do that several times, not sure if it is truly deep sleep but
i have lucid dreams alot more at those times, usually i have the fake
wake up, were its just black and dont realise im in limbo but then
really wake-up.

you mentioned lifes not great at the mo, i wish it gets better for
you. try to focus on anything postive in your life, as crap as it
sounds, look on the bright side, see the good in life all around you
and in you.
because the more you do the better things become, and vice versa.
get out of your head more, give yourself a break man.
i feel your pain, cause ive been/am there, but belive me, things will
definitely get better IF YOU WANT THEM TO.

look after your-self man, stay positive.

Peace

Chris

Mariano,

I've been catching up on my emails so this may be a bit behind some of the
others but I wanted to add my "2 cents" worth. I was under treatment for
depression for over a decade until I decided to "go inside" and handle the
issues. During the time I was under treatment one of the symptoms was
insomnia. I rarely got more than 4 to 5 hours sleep a night. This of
course led to others symptoms being cranky and hard to get along with, bad
relationships with those around me, etc. I noted in your response that
there were situations that might give rise to depression, BTW you can be
depressed without being so severe that others can hardly notice it. If I
were you, based on my experience, I would do as many have suggested start an
exercise routine [it helps the circulation, restores mental capability],
meditate with a focus on seeing where you are at this time and where you
would like to be, generate a list of realistic goals to accomplish and then
take some real action toward accomplishing some of them. All in all my
advice would be for you to look at where in life you are now, comes to terms
with it, chart a path to where you want to be, and start working on getting
there. What does this have to do with the LoO? Lots, if you were to
actively try to integrate STO and follow the recommendations of RA you will
find, I think, that everything begins to change including your insomnia.

Love,
Asa
