The Process of Healing

i ran across this short passage in a book which i am reading, and felt it is a key point to share with those who are actively involved with energetic healing.

when i read this, as a "professed" energy healer, it struck a cord within my innermost being. i realized that there was an obstacle to healing others when there was no healing in the self.

"imagine that someone came up to you wearing an ugly mask and asked you to heal a terrible blemish on the plastic surface. what good would you do that person if you took out a can of paint and painted over the blemish? the blemish is not the problem, the mask is . healing takes place when you look beyond the mask to what is underneath. the beautiful face that is underneath is not affected by the plastic blemish at all. but you may not know this until you are able to see beyond your own mask and realize who you really are. emissaries are people who have recognized the masks they wear and have seen past them. only then can they look behind the mask of another, without judgment, and point out the beauty that has neer changed. this is the true function of healing."

berry, that's wonderful! even though i am an energetic healer myself, i still have a few masks of my own that i keep painting over. it's no wonder that i haven't seemed to progress with any of my own healings in the past year or so.

i think there are more than just a few of us here on this board who find themselves saying (myself included): "why bother removing the cause of the problem when i can just stick a bandage over it... it's so much easier." i feel that in such busy times, we have what we feel to be, insurmountable problems that require so much attention that we can't possibly begin to work on ourselves.

well, reading this post has made me realize just how tired i am of just going for the simple fix. i've been dealing with increadible back pain for quite awhile now that i've been "treating" with pain pills. i've tried many otc brands which do little or nothing at all, but i usually go for something from behind the counter. i really don't like taking them, but they help when the drug is active in my system (usually no more than 3-4 hours, or even less most times). the problem is that i can't seem to even function without them, and because i'm taking them, my energy centers are either shutting down, or they are frying from over-use. these things are leaving me with no energy/ambition and leaving me quite depressed.

i try meditation and reiki but the effects are limited to when i'm actually doing it. also because i'm relying on the pain killers, i find it difficult to even feel the energy that i once felt so strongly all throughout my body. i have days when i feel great, and i don't take many of the pills, untill the next time i get the extreme muscle spasms, or i can hardly move at all. heating pads and sleep are about the only things that help aside from the pain pills.

the only reason i have not gone for medical attention is due to the cost. i also don't want to be made into an addict from perscriptions, or worse... surgery.

i'm hoping that by opening up about this, i too can start on my own process of healing. i know for a fact that i have a big blockage in my 4th chakra, but also that my 1st and 3rd chakras are not functioning very well. i know about the blockage in my 4th due to where i feel the kundalini rise fast and "crash" at the fourth chakra. i litterally get a jolt that makes me shiver when it hits that spot, it's like i'm being zapped every time. i've gotten this for years now, since i was a wee lad.

the strange thing about this blockage is that i can charge the top 3 chakras without a problem, but the bottom 3 are harder for me to get going. i can go from 7th to 4th without much problem, and from 1st to 4th and feel that charge, but i can't seem to get past and through the 4th from either direction.

i could go on, but that is the jist of my situation here. i'd appreciate any and all feedback from you folks.

isn't this the essence of seeing the other as whole and complete? the better we are at seeing this way the more complete the healing. in the end it is about recognizing that we are all one. a personal and universal "namaste" if you will...

i am working consistently now on the 4th chakra as it has become the most important one for me at this moment in time. in discussing the the springboard to infinate inteligence in section six of the study guide, ra said: "the center of heart, or green-ray, is the center from which third-density beings may springboard, shall we say, to infinite intelligence. blockages inthis are may manifest as difficulties in expressing what you may call universal love or compassion.(b1, 145)" ra also talks about green ray issues revolving around fear of being possesed in that section.

this may be an area of the loo that starborne may want to reread and meditate upon.

hello there everyone!

back from a "healingvacation" with my father:) that i've reconnected with after 50 years of disturbed contact.

as i've come to understand it, healing is not about forever being cured from diseases and wounds, but more so recognizing and accepting them which in turn increases the possibility of being liberated in one way ore another; gaining insight, being able to forgive oneself and others, being more compassionate, being able to put healthy boundaries without necessarily cutting relationships off or isolate oneself. also daring to speak up and have a different opinion without feeling instant separatedness from a possible adversary.....

...talking to myself here via the good old devil saturn...working hard to make him my best friend...

jon, when i first began working with chakras, i noticed a pronounced difference in the condition of chakras 1-3 and all the rest. my conclusion at the time is that the majority of us 2-legged ones function at the level of the lower 3. as a result, that's where the energy from other people's thoughts & emotions tend to impact us. that is, others tend to perceive us as physical (chakra #1) or sexual (chakra #2) beings, or emotional (#3) beings. if we accept those perceptions as the truth about us, then it will be a challenge to open up the upper ones, simply because that is outside the realm of most other people's ideas about reality.

i personally think it's great that you can charge the upper ones, because i had a long slow process of learning to work with those top 4 at all. one of the things i like about coming here & reading other people's posts is that i see people zipping through work that took me a long, long time to do. :) it gives me a good feeling, and increased hope for the future. thanks!!

nice, berry. is that the same basic metaphor, you think, as jesus talking about us getting the plank out of our own eye so we can see clearly to get the splinter out of somebody else's eye?

hi,
i have recently been studying healing methods & have been attracted in understanding the whole process. as i can see energy, auras, and feel energy with my hands when i put them together or on someone.
after messing with my own chakras i have realized my top 2 were naturally open most of my life....because i have always felt some higher connection speaking to me & guiding me. ive also been naturally intuitive with recent increase in the clairs.
i have also been working on my "heart" chakra as something told be this was important (before reading loo) my aura use to be an yellowish-green....but has become like an emerald green in the past couple of months. my experience has shown that when we feel "empathy" or realization of higher understanding/purpose for others (whether in person/or movie) we increase the vibration of the 4th chakra & becomes unclogged.

i do have an important question which im hoping someone can answer as i am trying to increase any healing attributes. i have started reading reiki, however after buying the book it says i need 3 attunments. i know i already have some gift as my husband has had chest surgery & he says it heals faster after i placed my hands on his heart chakra.(his nurse was also surprised)
i do know its not as miraculous as jesus of course, because as another example 2yrs ago i got some type of scalp issue (itching,burning,flakes) after using an online soap shampoo product which i found out later is common after use. :(
so lately ive been trying to heal my scalp which its does feel better afterwards but then comes back the next day.
another example, when i first started using my hands 3mnts ago when my husband 3rd eye chakra was clogged with pressure due to kundalini rising. i decided to place my hands on his forhead & i could actually "feel" the circular motions slowly to rapid increase on my hands. then he said that all that pressure was gone, and since has been more in-tuned with his surroundings such as visions.
so, im just wondering if i should keep reading reiki as a healer's guide, or not since i more than liking cant afford the (3) attunments. i do feel this is a necessary growth so i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction in this path. anyone have any experiences?

i teach and practice reiki, and so wanted to answer your question to the best of my ability. i know this was posted a little while ago, but hopefully it can be helpful.

there is much disagreement on this subject if you look around online. some say reiki can only be done after an attunement, others, like you, read a book and do it right away. some say true reiki can only be done if you have been attuned by "masters" that have a direct attunement lineage to usui sensei, the founder of reiki. there is even more disagreement surrounding the symbols. i spent a great deal of time researching the symbols' origins, efficacy and uses.

from my perspective, no, one does not have to get an attunument before "acquiring" the ability to do reiki. in fact, i guide my students through a couple of reiki exercises long before attunements are done. i participate in reiki shares where people that have never taken reiki come and are doing reiki wonderfully quickly and without a lengthy instruction. without an attunement.
what attunements serve to do, is two things:
1) they act as a sort of fast-forward button. anyone can work with reiki and gain skill over time. the attunement opens the crown chakra, blends the reiki energy with the student's personal energies and subconscious for better access and understanding, and blasts source energy through the student's body as a super detox and healing.
2) they fast-forward the access to the "morphic field" (to quote richard bartlett of matrix energetics), or the collective conscious of of everyone that has ever used reiki. the more people that use reiki, the greater the information and power that is stored in "akashic record" or "morphic field" or "collective conscious." almost as though "reiki" becomes a sort of packet of information energy that can be accessed by the practioner. this also applies to the symbols. the more people that use the symbols, the greater the meaning that is stored in the portion of collective conscious that corresponds to them.

first of all apologies if ive started an unnecessary thread, done a search and couldn't find any other threads to do with this.

i've never considered myself very spiritual and certainly not religious but i have always been very interested in occult, mystery, "conspiracy", tarot cards, astrology and reiki to name but a few. i had been very much into learning about reiki a few years ago and was practicing a lot of grounding and self healing sessions obviously on myself, never really practiced on other people as its something ive always kept to myself and was always still a bit skeptical about it. i think looking at it from a perspective of spiritual healing that you get with some churches put me off because i always associated it with religion and god and i have never followed any religion or cult christian, pagan or otherwise and i've never really believed in a god although i did always believe in some of the more spiritual aspects of life although some of it did used to scare me quite a bit! my wee granny used to say its not the dead you should be scared of its the living which is so true imo, she was a wise woman my wee granny.

anyway with my recent revelations and also my own reading about reiki and looking at it purely from a scientific view of harnessing positive energy reiki does seem to have sort of crept back into my interests and i had been thinking about trying it out again, still haven't really got around to doing all that much and haven't really tried any of the grounding exercises or anything, tbh ive been feeling quite positively charged up recently anyway.

my wee cat (lucifer! very appropriate :) ) has had a lump on his site for ages, was quite big but with him getting older i was worried about taking him to the vet in case they recommended having him put down and he has still been very healthy and happy so didn't really want to just in case, he is about 21 years old now and for a cat his age he is doing really well! he is my best pal, comes up and cuddles me am sure he understands everything!

anyway a few weeks ago i was going to sleep and he usually always comes up and lies in front of me wanting to be petted when i'm going to sleep so i usually do for a few minutes lol cant resist he is my wee baby. so i decided to try a bit of healing on the cat and put my hand on the lump on his side and focused my energy into it with the intention of taking all the bad stuff out and healing it! then the other day i noticed that it had burst and emptied out completely, its more or less gone, there is a little bit of a scab where its obviously came to a head and although he has always been pretty healthy he does seem to have perked up. i could smell it a little but considering how long its been there which is a good couple of years now it was barely anything and its almost healed up completely and gone as if its never been there!?

weird thing is ive been getting a lot of things come up in card readings and my astro forecast about being a healer and having guides surrounding me, helping me and stuff like that! all weirdly since my little epiphany a couple of months ago.

i have always been able to pick of up on other peoples energy quite a lot and a lot of times it has actually stuck to me, even sometimes when its been more negative energy which isn't so nice. i feel as if this is also becoming a lot stronger, don't know if its something to do with my senses being a bit messed up because of my health issues and its somehow heightened my 6th sense as it were.

anyway just wondered if this made any sense to anyone or if anyone else has had experience of this kind of energy and using energy healing and what your results have been. i would normally just brush is off as nothing but with the cat having had the lump there for such a long time its really weird lol
