hello all!!
i am very psyched about this week and i want to share why. i believe the cosmos are awaking to us and starting to speak (*smiles* well not literally).
today is our spring equinox, a day of harmony, when the sun reaches the node of our equator. the sun is a 'ascending' movement and will continue ascending till it reaches its highest point on june 21 for the summer solstice. i know david mentioned march 20th as a day of energy possibly, and i want to suggest, that is just the beginning. i have mentioned in many posts how the dark moon phases influence my dreams and times of downloads, and venus, the third brightest object in the sky, is the ancient 'star' that was called the fallen one and the bright morning star. this week, with the sun rising in pisces, we have also the other two brightest objects, in their most purest of forms. the dark moon, venus will fall from evening to morning while 8 degrees above the sun from our view (she is really only inbetween the earth and sun, with the moon as well).
the zodiacal new year begins today, in a sense, today is really the first day of our new yr (on a zodiacal calendar). on the 25 the phase of our moon will be the dark moon, even though we cant see it (dark moon) it sits in between us and the sun. i have had awesome experiences of downloads and dreams in times of the dark moon. many religious beliefs are getting to celebrate their new year also, they are awaiting the first sign of the new crescent moon to bring in the new yr. the dark moon can last anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 days, so the new crescent must be observed, not predicted, like we commonly do with our calendars today. i too, feel that these religious beliefs were on to more then what they understood, and that observing the first crescent moon after the spring equinox is very important. i did this last yr, and i followed the observing with fasting from meats, and i believe this is what began my phenomenal experiences last yr which lead to my time slip last yr. so what makes this yr special?? venus is in the middle of her retrograde on the 27th of march, which could very well be the day we see our crescent moon. venus, on the 27th, will be directly above the sun, 8 degrees. so we have venus, the sun, the moon, all lined up on the 27th, the possible day of the first crescent of the new yr. this is when the evening star will 'fall' in a sense to her morning position. i think this is exactly what religions try to reflect, through human figures, about the fallen star and the bright morning star. i believe that a birth on march 27 may be very blessed. it is possible, that we wont see the crescent till the 28th.....so i am awaiting to see if the signs will sync with each other, and all happen on the 27th. even if it doesn't show itself till the 28th, which would then become the first day of the new yr. then our present yr defiantly goes out with a sign of 'change'. either way, i see it as a signs to 'pay attention' for things are beginning to change, and make sure you are creating positive thoughts, for we are true creators with our eternal thoughts.
shorter version (without rambles)
today, spring equinox
25th and 26th dark moon
27th the sun, venus, moon and earth are aligned (3 brightest objects)
27th is also the middle of venus's retrograde
27th or 28th the days to look for the new crescent of this new yr.
shed fears, forgive yourself, forgive others, move forward from past regressions. on the 28th, be ready to start off on the right foot with positive thoughts. i feel really strong that this week is unique.
since observing the new crescent moon worked so well last yr for me and my experiences, i just want to share with everyone, there might be a real snyc going on with this observation and re aligning ourselves to the movements of our luminaries. the universe is very aware when we are aware of her. what if the universe 'awakens' in a sense, along with our own 'awakenings'....
staring the 28th, like last yr. i am going to fast from meats and cleanse any negative thoughts i have had trouble shedding from this past yr with the cresent moon ushering me into this new year of our seasons.
peace and love to all

hello group,
since "the law of one series recommends studying astrology to have a better handle on the influences in the present moment" per dw, we may open this thread to discuss astrology.
we do want to avoid personal astrological interpretations and focus upon general planetary influences, which is what lynette so aptly did. thank you! moderators

i am pretty new to astrology, but the sky has always fascinated me. what i am trying to understand is where we are in relation to the center of our galaxy. i have heard that energy is coming from our supermassive black hole at the center, which is where ultimately the creator came from. i have also heard that on dec 21st, 2012, when the sun rises, it is supposed to be directly on top of that center if viewing with the naked eye.
what my question is, is one, is this correct information, and two, is this for the entire planet, or only certain hemesphere's? can we see the center of the galaxy from both the north and the south, or just the south?
any information is appreciated! thanks!

lynette,
this is a very interesting post. i emphasize that i am totally ignorant of astrology. well, not "totally" - about 35 years ago i got a computerized astrology reading, and i know that when mercury goes retrograde conversations go haywire.
that's the sum total of my astrological knowledge, so i can't really contribute to this thread on the level chris asked us to.
your post was such a huge synchronicity for me, though, that i would like to post something (mods & gods willing) i wrote to a group of friends off this forum. i posted the following question:
sent: wednesday, march 18, 2009 2:22 am
"anybody besides me feel a raw new energy in the air?"
so, lynette, i want to thank you for posting this information. i find it really helpful when some knowledgeable person posts on some topic i am frankly ignorant about. divine cosmos is a good place to learn. :)

hello there
this center seems to be in the location under ophiuchus foot (or the foot area itself), the arrow of sagittarius is supposed to point to the location, the scorpion's stinger is viewed as stinging the heal of ophiuchus (the serpent holder, healer, seems to have many names...but most often related to as 'healer'). the following drawing just give a idea, the foot of ophiuchus is what makes this a 'real sign' of the epileptic, making 13 signs the sun travels through. what i currently would like to know, is if ophiuchus has always been a part of the suns path or if this is something we could put a year on for when it began to 'descend' down.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/file:kepler_drawing_of_sn_1604.png
if you can view sagittarius from your area, its likely then you are looking towards the center of our galaxy. if you can find the arrow and the tail of the scorpion, you should be facing the center. depending on the seasons, yes it can be viewed by north and south.

alot of info to help know what is in the sky view right now....
http://www.sudekumplanetarium.com/features/index.shtml
and look up march 24 on earthsky, it says this-
tuesday, march 24, 2009.
in the northern hemisphere, it should be possible to catch the blazing planet venus low in the west just after sunset this evening.
and if sky conditions are just right, it should also be possible to catch venus low in the east tomorrow, shortly before sunrise. venus is nearly always in either one part of the sky, or the other. now – for a few days – it’s visible as both a morning and an evening ‘star.’
that’s because venus will pass in between us and the sun this friday, march 27. usually we see venus pass from the evening sky to morning sky or vice versa. but on friday, venus will swing 8 degrees north of the sun – the maximum amount possible. and it’s because of its passage north of the sun that venus will appear in both our morning and evening skies, for the next few days.
take advantage of this rare opportunity to catch venus at both dusk and dawn, as this sister planet transitions from our evening to our morning sky. you’ll have to look very low in the sky for venus. remember it’ll go between us and the sun on friday – so it’s very near the sun now along our line of sight. you’ll find venus low in the west just after sunset.
and low in the east just before sunrise.
only from the northern hemisphere will observers be able to see venus in both the morning dawn and evening twilight skies. in the southern hemisphere, you can’t see venus at all.
at mid-northern latitudes – like in the us, canada, europe and asia – venus sets about 1/2 hour after sunset this evening and rises about 1/2 hour before sunrise tomorrow. but venus can’t be seen from the southern hemisphere, because south of the equator, venus sets before the sun and rises after the sun.
mods i am doing the best i can with the links, i dont expect everyone to just take my word on it. i try to use planetariums, astronomy and science sites for the information. i try not to us astrology sites. some astrology sites do use sidereal time, but it can be a pain in finding out if they do.

hello deerclan and all,
here is a great site, this is the calculation of where the sun is today.
here is their home page
http://heavens-above.com/?lat=0&lng=0&alt=0&loc=unspecified&tz=cet
click on 'sun' under astronomy section to get the following-
apparent geocentric position
right ascension 0h 8m 28s
declination 0° 55' 3"
range 0.9966326 au
constellation pisces
2009
equinox 12:43, 20 march
solstice 07:45, 21 june
equinox 23:18, 22 september
solstice 18:46, 21 december
the great thing about this site is you can go forward and backwards to view the location of the sun on any given day.
you can also do this with the moon under the astronomy
click on 'planet summary data' for location of each planet.

on friday, the 20th, i felt a shift begin and also experienced a profound sense of happiness and gratitude. being an aries myself, i love this time of year as the sun begins her sojourn into the moon of the popping trees.
the new crescent moon of the equinox was also a high ceremonial moon in ancient time. a time of high sacrifice. how fitting that you would give up meat in sacrifice at that time. it symbolizes to me that literal sacrifices have become spiritual ones. we are definitely evolving, aren't we? you have inspired me to also observe the time and to align myself with the synchronicity of planetary movement. i will add my sacrifice to yours on the altar. perhaps the sweetness of our thoughts shall be a rich delicacy to the pallet of the one whom sustains us all.
blessed be

i wants to show some searches i did in the law of one --
30.12 questioner: thank you. can you give me a brief history of the metaphysical principles of the development of each of our planets that surround our sun, their function with respect to the evolution of beings?
ra: i am ra. we shall give you a metaphysical description only of those planets upon which individual mind/body/spirit complexes have been, are, or shall be experienced. you may understand the other spheres to be a part of the logos.
we take the one known as venus. this planetary sphere was one of rapid evolution. it is our native earth and the rapidity of the progress of the mind/body/spirit complexes upon its surface was due to harmonious interaction.
_______
peace to all,
lynette
upon the entity known to you as mars, as you have already discussed, this entity was stopped in mid-third density, thus being unable to continue in progression due to the lack of hospitable conditions upon the surface. this planet shall be undergoing healing for some of your space/time millennia.
the planet which you dwell upon has a metaphysical history well known to you and you may ask about it if you wish. however, we have spoken to a great degree upon this subject.
the planet known as saturn has a great affinity for the infinite intelligence and thus it has been dwelled upon in its magnetic fields of time/space by those who wish to protect your system.
the planetary entity known to you as uranus is slowly moving through the first density and has the potential of moving through all densities.
________
41.25 questioner: this may be too long a question for this working, but i will ask it and if it is too long we can continue it at a later time. could you tell me of the development of the social memory complex ra, from its first beginnings and what catalysts it used to get to where it is now in activation of rays?
ra: i am ra. the question does not demand a long answer, for we who experienced the vibratory densities upon that planetary sphere which you call venus were fortunate in being able to move in harmony with the planetary vibrations with an harmonious graduation to second, to third, and to fourth, and a greatly accelerated fourth-density experience.
we spent much time/space, if you will, in fifth-density balancing the intense compassion we had gained in fourth-density. the graduation again was harmonious and our social memory complex which had become most firmly cemented in fourth-density remained of a very strong and helpful nature.
our sixth-density work was also accelerated because of the harmony of our social memory complex so that we were able to set out as members of the confederation to even more swiftly approach graduation to seventh-density. our harmony, however, has been a grievous source of naiveté as regards working with your planet. is there a brief query before we leave this instrument?
76.11 questioner: since ra evolved initially on venus ra is of the same archetypical origin as that which we experience here. is this correct?
ra: i am ra. this is correct.
88.10 questioner: thank you. i would like to ask you as to the initial production of the tarot, where this concept was first formed and where the tarot was first recorded?
ra: i am ra. the concept of the tarot originated within the planetary influence you call venus.
________
76.9 questioner: is there, in ra’s opinion, any present day value for the use of the tarot as an aid in the evolutionary process?
ra: i am ra. we shall repeat information. it is appropriate to study one form of constructed and organized distortion of the archetypical mind in depth in order to arrive at the position of being able to become and to experience archetypes at will. you have three basic choices. you may choose astrology, the twelve signs, as you call these portions of your planet’s energy web, and what has been called the ten planets. you may choose the tarot with its twenty-two so-called major arcana. you may choose the study of the so-called tree of life with its ten sephiroth and the twenty-two relationships between the stations.
it is well to investigate each discipline, not as a dilettante, but as one who seeks the touchstone, one who wishes to feel the pull of the magnet. one of these studies will be more attractive to the seeker. let the seeker, then, investigate the archetypical mind using, basically, one of these three disciplines. after a period of study, the discipline mastered sufficiently, the seeker may then complete the more important step: that is, the moving beyond the written in order to express in an unique fashion its understanding, if you may again pardon the noun, of the archetypical mind.
76.12 questioner: but i am assuming that the concepts of the tarot and the magical concepts of the tree of life, etc. were not in use by ra. i suspect, possibly, some form of astrology was a previous ra concept. this is just a guess. am i correct?
ra: i am ra. to express ra’s methods of study of the archetypical mind under the system of distortions which we enjoyed would be to skew your own judgment of that which is appropriate for the system of distortions forming the conditions in which you learn/teach. therefore, we must invoke the law of confusion.

the holy grail and the great design
by dale huffman
a popular theory about the holy grail today is that it referred to the biblical mary magdalene, who unbeknownst to history was the wife of jesus christ and gave birth to a son by him, thus continuing his direct line. this is, however, merely a poor sequel to what was meant to be a transcendent story of the christ, or divinely perfected man, reducing it to the hope of any man that his line should continue.
in reality, the holy grail, or "cup of the son (of god)" is but one example of a recurring motif in ancient myths, of the "golden cup of the sun" (this play upon the homonyms "son" and "sun" is very old, and continues to this day.)

and for those unfamiliar with astrology, the most common zodiac, the tropical one, is based on the two equinoxes and two solstices.
0 degrees aries is always the vernal equinox, 0 libra is the autumn equinox, 0 degrees cancer is the summer solstice, 0 degrees capricorn is the winter solstice.
the solstices are when earth is most inclined toward (summer) or away (winter) from the sun. the difference between the length of the day or night is at its greatest difference
the equinoxes are the two times when the earth is neither inclined toward nor away from the sun, and day and night is equal.
in chart interpretation, planets located within a few degrees of these points are considered particularly powerful.
in any case, it is interesting to consider why this event occurs on the date the sun enters capricorn (winter solstice).
capricorn is the goat perpetually ascending the mountain. it is associated with continually desiring perfection, yet the restrictions of physical existence.
lawgivers, from old, such as moses or hammurabi, did so from a mountain. (hammurabi steeles are always depicted with him on top of a mountain)
it rules saturn. ra says of the planets:
30.12 questioner: thank you. can you give me a brief history of the metaphysical principles of the development of each of our planets that surround our sun, their function with respect to the evolution of beings?

you find much on the internet about these two. let me quote a few from
http://www.astrologyclub.org/
"saturn is the planet furthest away from the sun and earth and still visible to the eye. it symbolizes the limit of the “real world” of our consensual ideas..
it is ordinary reality relative to time and space. saturn’s function is to protect, to create structure, to limit and to clarify by defining."
(note how ra also mentioned protect, and how the council's function is limitation and protection, such as through the quarantine)
you can also read about the roman festival of saturnalia, how it became christmas, etc. in other places.

a bit late to this post here.
me and my wife got married on march 20th this year. we talked about it as being a good day of good energy and rebirth as the relation to this solstice.
it definetly has that good energy and we had a great outdoor wedding in the beautiful weather that seemed to be reserved for us (where i live, this was the nicest day of the whole month).
definetly a great day for love and we had a handfast type ceremony and very much in tune with the earth and the infinite loving consciousness.
part of the handfast is that it is open and not really a limited ceremony.
we both are aware of the astrological signifigance of this day and it is definetly like the rebirth of things, which is great.
this may be slightly off topic, but it sure had a good vibe to us. we then had a good ol nice pacific northwest coast honeymoon experience which made it even more better. the ocean is great around these times although in oregon it was insanely cold on the beach.

hi
since ra encourages the study of astrology i wonder if that includes personal astrology or only sthe study of the collective (that are in my view of course totally interconnected)
i can clearly understand that the moderators do not want this forum to turn into an astrologyforum but i would be interested in what way ra suggests we should work with astrology for our personal spiritual development and if so someone could guide me to that part of the loo.
thanks in advance from transiten

hi
yesterday nov 16 the new moon was in scorpio. one can cast a chart for that moment and interpret it on a collective level. sun is also in scorpio right now and on the 8:th of november we entered the 6:th night in the mayan calendar.
barbara hand clow works together with carl-johan calleman who has his own theory on the mayan calendar and this is interesting to follow in the unfolding of mundane events in combination with spiritual awakening.
a personal synchronicity regarding the scorpio energies yesterday is i visited a scorpio elderly woman who has helped me a lot but is totally against everything displayed on this forum and astrology altogether. we had some discussion about the swineflucase and alternative medicinetreatments and i was rather abrupt standing my case feeling i must protect myself from her negative influence and that's very difficult since she is old and ill.
afterwards i went into a petstore that had a terrarium with two black kingscorpios:eek: they were sitting in each corner opposite eachother. i immediately got the image of the scorpio woman and myself, her birthday is today and mine tomorrow. i have deep feelings of guilt that i don't want to communicate with her as much anymore because can never be myself in her company always having to stop myself from talking about my deepest spiritual interests and i feel she is not respecting me.
these are trying times for us all but as the saying goes it's always darkest before dawn.

hi
just felt the need to report that i called the woman up to greet her on her birthday and then she told me she had almost fainted talking to her daughter and that she felt it was a premonition she will not be her for very long......
i immediately felt i will put my own feelings of inadeqacy aside and take control over the situation and my own feelings. i actually can choose not to get bogged down by her emotional state and also choose when and if i want to talk to her and i think i will be guided by my higher self to be close to her when the time comes for her to leave this dimensio.

hello transiten!
i know you and i both share the common ground of loving the cycles of the stars and the planets. i see you are using the tropical zodiac for the movements? most astrology sites use this.
since you are feeling the scorpio strongly as always....i just suggest the tropical is allowing you to receive awareness of something before the true placements. what i am saying is that according to the true astronomy of the placing of the sun and moon right now....the sun has yet to enter the scorpio. you are receiving awareness of this while the sun is still in libra, getting ready for scorpio.
the tropical zodiac shows you where the sun would of been lets say a couple thousand years ago. the sidereal or real solar zodiac will show you things have changed from our viewing perspective. if you could look through the suns light and see the backdrop the sun is dancing in today, it would of been libra. i believe though that on the 16th was the day that the moon and sun were dancing together, the new moon was defiantly making its way through. the sun will enter scorpio (according to the true placements) in a few days.
also, most astrology sites are gong to tell you that the sun is in scorpio the same amount of time as all signs, hence the separation of the signs into 12 even segments. but....the sun is in scorpio for a very short time, shorter then any other sign...it only rises in scorpio for 8 days (give or take). i believe this makes true scorpios few and far between.
according to 'heavensabove.com' your first day of true scorpio with the sun will be on the 23rd.
http://www.heavens-above.com/sun.asp?lat=0&lng=0&alt=0&loc=unspecified&tz=cet&date=40140.8216203704
i think your senses are spot on though...the new moon did occur in scorpio....the new moon was also the first day of the moon being in scorpio. moving fast though as always....today it was in ophiuchus (not part of the tropical zodiac).
see if we use the tropical, we are looking at the past of time. so both have a purpose. when i began to look for the difference...the slope between the two...strange things happened. i believe my observing the sidereal was a part of my awakening. it occurred for a good 2 years straight. the largest notice for me and the sidereal was when saturn was in my sidereal sign of leo. for 2 years i was in another world. when saturn finally left leo this year, it seemed to of also allowed me to not be in touch as much with that 'wonder' in me. its like i had my time of awakening, had my time of a choice to make, and just fell back to earth one day *smiles*. i think everyone may have a time like this....a couple of years that just seems other worldly, thoughts that seem to originate from another self, almost as if a higher vibration of self is speaking to the self.
have you ever looked to make sure you are a true scorpio...have you ever checked the birth time of the sidereal zodiac? one of the hardest transitions for me was finding out i wasnt the virgo that resonated with me so much. well, i am, in the past, virgo...but today, the now, for what ever now is...i came through the gate of leo.
something from the loo...
"the most important concept to grasp about the energy field is that the lower or negative pole will draw the universal energy into itself from the cosmos. therefrom it will move upward to be met and reacted to by the positive spiraling energy moving downward from within."
i believe there is a matrix that connects everything with a magnetic energy or sorts. if we could see this...we would see energy lines everywhere, coming and going. i think our view of the cosmos is a tool for us...and for any being anywhere in the universe. if all energies/spheres are connected with the primal energy then in a way, we can be aware of the spheres as also they are aware of us. to know the true placement of a sun, moon or planet may very well be the tool that awakenings new wisdom's in a person. just another way for the higher self to bring awareness when one is ready or truly seeking. the higher self may use the difference, the change, between the two zodiacs, the past and present, to bring new vibrations.
so i would say, the 16th was a opener for you with the new moon...and intuitively, you knew it was there....i would be open and peaceful with the self on the 23rd when the sun is at the gate of scorpio.
these are just personal rambles, take it with a grain of salt, what may be for one may be something totally different for another. my take isnt really from just one place such as the loo...but also from much of the past cultures that followed the signs and stars.
love lynette

thanks for posting the info jivatman....
i just want to note...the tropical is just as important as the true solar zodiac. one deals with the past...where we have been and come from...and one deals with the now and what is coming.
as you stated, the tropical shows spring equinox in aries. this shows us where the cycle was thousands of years ago. now...the spring equinox sun rises in pisces and will for a few more hundred years. we can feel the transition occurring right now...the cusp coming of two ages.
as great as it is to know the path of the sun in the past....i think many are cheated out of knowing the true place of the sun today. i think there could even be a conspiracy here keeping many fro awakening. if one doesn't know the true lines of energies...how can one be really connected to the cosmos. when i stated following the true solar zodiac it was like my higher (using that term lightly) self stood there waiting for me.
litllady
11-18-2009, 05:59 PM
i should also note transiten that scorpio and libra were once looked at as one....libra was once looked at as the claws of the scorpion.
so you might of been on to more then what i thought, if we look at them as one sign. its hard to say what to use, there were cultures that used only 10 signs, some used 14 signs.

i was looking at some sidereal zodiac's yesterday and i can see the confussion in 'where is the sun really'.
even though sidereal is what i have mentioned before, it is still off somewhat. this is again why i advise that if you really want to know where the sun is rising.....use astronomy sites or science based sites.
things to look for right now (from the southern american perspective)...first, the sun will soon be rising in the sign of the scorpion (23rd). what is interesting about this is that legend goes that orion and the scorpion will never be found in the same sky together (being able to see them both at the same time). so in the morning of the 23rd knowing the sun is rising is scorpio...you can also know that later that night, you can see orion after the sun has set well below the horizon. ive been looking at night in the direction the sun rises (east) about 11pm and finding orion clear as a bell, in the sky. shortly after orion begins to rise up, you will notice mars (nice pretty red) and to the right of mars you will see a bright light which is sirius.
what is cool about the coming days is the knowing that the sun will soon be rising in ophiuchus (the 13th signs, the healer) (nov.30-dec. 17). anything special about this direction of the sun's backdrop over the next couple of months?? yes!
these constellations (scorpio, ophiuchus, sagittarius) are all in the direction of the galactic center.
from wiki--
the galactic center is the rotational center of the milky way galaxy. it is located at a distance of 7.62±0.32 kpc (~25,000±1,000 ly) from the earth[1][2][3][4][5][6] in the direction of the constellations sagittarius, ophiuchus, and scorpius where the milky way appears brightest. it is believed that there is a supermassive black hole at the galactic center of the milky way.[7]
so when you see the beautiful sun over the next couple months....know that you are facing the galactic center.....
i really dont get into horoscopes...but i do get into understanding where i am standing....in this massive universe. i like to be able to picture in my mind where the spheres are...even in the middle of the day and i cant see them...i know they are there. right now also, when you see the sun rise, know venus is right there close. you dont have to see it...to feel it there.

as we approach the time of giving gifts to others, i always wonder how certain days seemed important to many cultures of people. the time between dec. 21-25 was deeply meaningful to many different people. i like to think that if these times were that meaningful that many different cultures created reasons for the meaning, then the days building up to the 'point' in time were just as important for awareness.
orion itself has a history with people that obviously noted. i had a linked bookmarked that i went back and reread yesterday about the stars and holidays in religion (the article mainly reflects on christian religion).
it is interesting....
http://www.usbible.com/astrology/christian_holidays.htm
where do the dates of christian holidays come from? the answer is bound up in first century astronomy and astrology. word confusion reigns in christian jargon. while christians believe the life of christ was a real event, it was in fact a story written in allegory of the movements of celestial bodies personified as human events. while modern christians believe that "heaven" implies a supernatural existence. to ancients, it was the same heaven we see every day. to take one case discussed in detail below, when christians think of christ as a person ascending to heaven, what early christians saw was the constellation orion ascending.
sometime during the early history of christian theology, the astrological roots of christianity were lost. it might have been before the time of augustine who famously rejected astrology. or it maybe it was augustine himself who recognized that if christianity held to its astrological roots, it would not survive-we can only guess. anyway, by studying the heavenly path of orion, we gain insight to the origins of christian holidays.
for the first three centuries of christianity, the only real holiday observance was easter, and to a lesser extent pentecost. from the fourth century onward, the calendar grew more complex.
orion's trajectory
christianity grew out of pagan beliefs in a sun deity, which explains why sun-day marks the christian sabbath. christ personifies the sun as it passes around the zodiac. the sun's spirit is epitomized by the son of man and is represented by the constellation orion. when the sun dies on the winter solstice, it is reborn three days later on december 25th. orion begins its ascent on the same day, december 25, with the sun. orion is located in the house of taurus, which makes taurus the heavenly kingdom where orion sits on his throne (lepus). jerusalem is simultaneously a place on earth and the heavenly kingdom in the zodiac. it is the time of righteousness when the sun rises above the equator after the spring equinox.....
the times of giving thanks and giving are on us :) one of the greatest gifts my kids and i enjoy giving is food (i believe there is a time to enjoy all those great sweets).

i am in total agreement with you. the man we know as jesus defiantly walked this earth and defiantly will be there as a comforter and teacher if thou shall seek thee. i find it ironic how the path of the stars seems to reflect the path of great teachers. we can learn so much from the righteous actions, such as forgiving those who hurt us.

hello litllady!
well all these different zodiacs are quite confusing and even if you use the sideral one ophiucus is not included anyway. also there ought to be another way to reach a zodiac with 13 signs since there are 13 fullmoons a year.
also we have esoteric astrology where the rulers of the signs are mostly attributed to other signs than those we are used to. as for me with the sideral zodiac i will still be scorpio but mars will move into leo instead of virgo and that would suite me well:) but i cannot see how that would change the person i am anyway;)
you don't interpret your own chart either? i was curious to know how you would use astrology to increase your spirituality since ra encourages us to study the art. i did not understand what was said in the loo even though i had the link provided. the english is too archaic for me to fully understand since it's not my native language.

hey guys and gals:)
evolving-*laughs* language is funny. i wouldnt of used 'lovingly' in replace of defiantly because i wasnt trying to describe anything...i was trying to comment how 'sure' i was of such an existence.
transiten-i agree it is confusing with the different zodiacs. its been a quest of mine for a while now and i still am all the time checking with astronomy to figure them out. i agree totally transiten of needing a zodiac that shows all 13 signs. even though the real solar zodiac uses all 13 signs, it is very hard to find zodiacs that reflect this in table form. the reason is because the zodiac would change a very small bit every 72 years or so.
in my opinion, a true astrologer should use a solar zodiac, using the true placements of the sun, meaning they would have to pretty much have to make each birth chart by hand (per individual, and not just general dates. a person that is lets say over 80 years old and a person that is lets say under the age of 10...but yet both having the same birth date....could possibly have different signs (the chances are small, but possible). some astrologers do account ophiuchus in a sidereal zodiac, making a general spot for ophiuchus. more often then not when looking up side real and real solar zodiacs, you end up with dates and not a table to look at.
still yet, sidereal is still closer to the true positions then that of tropical. tropical divides into 12 parts evenly and sidereal divides more according to the actual amount of time the sun is in each sign. what do we learn here? that the sun is not in each sign equally. this is true and can be accounted for in any astronomy program or site. scorpio is a great example of this...showing the sun is not in all the signs the same amount of time. still the failure of the sidereal is not fully acknowledging ophiuchus as well as it is a little out of date now.
so then, we go to the solar zodiac, the true watch of where the sun is rising. the problem here is actually finding tables to show the true positions of planets and all, because the backdrops to the sun, moon, and planets is changing....so mostly when looking for real solar zodiac's, all one will find is a system that shows when the sun changes signs. the tracking of what sign the planets are in ect is alot of work to keep up with, and its just easier for astrologist to use the tropical or sidereal for such.
so is there a true zodiac for today? if you find one, you will also then meet someone who dedicated alot of time studying the positions of the stars in the 'present', the only way to really do this is to use the science of astronomy. making your own chart then would be possible using a program such as stellarium (free and downloadable).
i dont do my own chart because i see the stars not so much for the individual self but more so as a 'map' and 'marker' for humanity. we can see where we have been in our past, we can see why we believed what we did, we can see the braiding of our cultures today, from our past. i also just like to know where things are and what those things had to do with history. at night time, i can image where the sun is. in the day time, i can imagine where the moon is. when things line up in space and i observe it, it feels as if something much bigger then me is aware of my observance. to sit and feel where the spheres are according to where im sitting, what direction i am facing, is somewhat magical. its like there is a consciousness to all the things in space and they are glad to know someone is 'feeling' for them or wanting to know them. i guess its similar to me as a tree hugger is to some....some believe the trees are aware they are being 'hugged' or talked to....i believe by knowing the positions of the closer spheres in space, the spheres are in a sense...getting a 'hug' and are very aware of the attention (love).
sometimes, i think space is more aware of my attention to it then some humans are of my attention to them:rolleyes:
to me, the spiritual thing about studying astrology is learning the past selves of this sphere. mabey to get where we are going we need to know where we have been. all things are made from the same energy...we are of the stars and the stars are of us. things are made in a way for us to make relation to them, and to ourselves. if there were lines of energy that connected all spheres in the space, each line would be all little different, according to where it came from and where its heading. i see the movement of space almost as mechanical. it all has order and cycles. even though a cycle might receive a catalyst and be interrupted on its present path....doesnt mean it is not going to find a new cycle to be a order of. just as us the same, we receive catalysts that may knock us off our path/cycle...but we will find a new cycle, we will continue on, in some order and form of...energy.
so with using the solar zodiac, i have been fascinated with the idea that the majority of people ( i was one for so long) do not know when the sun is really in a sign. usually, if going by tropical, they have it wrong...if going by sidereal, they are close....if going by solar...they will be right. i have not been able to incorporate planet positions technically (in order to produce a chart)...but using stellarium will get you closer then anything else will due to planet positions. heavensabove.com will also show you what sign a planet is in.
if signs and positions have any sort of 'meaning'...then shouldnt we need to know how things change from our true perspective? if mars has any meaning while we see it in virgo....what good would it do us to know that on that same day, 2000 years ago, mars would of been in a different sign? well nothing really, besides learning about our past positions to the stars and planets.
im really trying to show there is a huge difference in the zodiacs that are used today and the true positions of the sun, moon, and planets today. one is not likely to even know all of this unless they have a deep urge to study it. i wouldnt advise anyone to study it if they didnt feel a reason resonating with them to do so.
an interesting note is through the channeling of ra...it wasnt required that carla lay a certain direction, but it was advised. going from memory (anyone feel free to correct where i am wrong) the positioning of carla had alot to do with the magnetic north. im thinking she was laid 23 degrees from magnetic north or something like that....so this is where i do find that the energy lines are important. this is where i find that it is important to know the true present positions.
whom ever has survived this chaotic rambles....bless you:) all of these rambles results in the 'why' i find it important to not follow only traditional zodiacs that show past positions...but to also find and study the real positions of today. time changes everything.
i am still learning...very much so

while in this discussion of the zodiacs and signs...lets note that including ophiuchus would make ophiuchus not the 13 signs in which i have a habit of saying....let me try to sort out why.
the solar zodiac marks the spring equinox as the beginning (marker). if aquarius was the sign that the sun rose in on the spring equinox, then aquarius would be the beginning of the solar zodiac. right now we have pisces as the sign the sun is in on the spring equinox so we have pisces as the marker of the beginning. really...this makes sense. many cultures waited on the spring equinox to mark their 'new year day' and some even incorporated the 'new moon' after the spring equinox as the first 'new day'. we are still very much in pieces on the spring equinox, so for a few hundred years anyways, we will have pisces as this marker.
if pisces is are 'marker' of beginning...that places ophiuchus as the 10th sign, then sagittarius as the 11th sign, capricorn as the 12th sign, and aquarius as the 13th. oddly, our precious aquarius that we all hear so much about becomes the odd ball 13.
btw....we are hundreds of years away from entering the age of aquarius. some say we entered it already, some say we are on the cusp. we are very very much in the age of pisces, astronomy and a solar zodiac can show this.

i wanted to come back and make an earlier statement a little more clear (i hope). sometimes i cant put things easily into words.
i had trouble getting to sleep last night because i thought i posted something that was not right. this morning i woke and immediately re read some of the loo.
i had brought up carla and her position being important while channeling. this is true, but it is more to do with magnetic north then anything else. (i still may need someone else to come in and explain this better)) from what i understand, it was important for the position of 23 degrees north/northeast. from what i understand, this is because the magnetic north pole/flux runs 23 degrees or so northeast from our true north. true north being the geometrical north pole. true north on the earth doesnt change, but its point of reflection to the stars does change. example....our true north point would point up to the polaris star for now, as the earth wobbles its way, our true north will point to a different place in the stars. magnetic north on the earth does change, according to earths position as well as even things like iron within the earth can effect it. there is a magnetic declination, which is the change/slope of amount of space between the true north and magnetic north. some placed on the earth are running through a '0' declination line, being that their true north and magnetic north are parallel, the same, without much or any declination.
i had strange thoughts and understandings that raged through my mind when i began to feel the need to study magnetic north a while back. i was shocked to find out that i lived very close to a 0 declination point. i was shocked to find out that when ed lewinskie (sp?) build coral castle that he was very close (if not right on) a 0 declination point. what i found even more crazy (unless my observation was wrong) was that the year he supposedly moved coral castle was the year the 0 declination had moved. if this is more then small speculations, mabey edward needed the 0 declination point to build coral castle.
if someone could study and figure the declination points for egypt....say at the tie time the pyramid was built, i bet we would have interesting finds.
to tie in with astronomy and astrology....every sphere should have this same flux going on. i would not find it strange at all if we knew that our magnetic north and other spheres magnetic lines influence each other if in certain positions to each other. i would go further to assume that every single sphere and in space runs a line of energy to every single other sphere in space. to me, being aligned with positions of certain spheres can allow a path of the self to be in sync with the universe.
i would even go one step further and say that if one is wanting to learn from past selves, that past zodiacs and past positions would allow this to be somewhat easier. there seems to different energies when observing past positions and present positions (but sense time doesnt really exists both past and present are of equal value and purpose, just different value and purpose). by lining with an older energy flux one can line up with a different/past position.
why would magnetic north have anything to do with astronomy? because the earths tilt matters to both. the tilt is why we are not in the same age all the time at spring equinox, the tilt is the reason why we now and in the future will see space from different perspectives, the tilt causes the change/the difference of our positions, over time. it is the reason the zodiac has changed and will always change with a 'flux'.
here is a link to something interesting....you can watch the 0 declination line change over time....
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/earth_magnetic_field_declination_from_1590_to_1990 .gif
found a site that uses the solar zodiac to show true birth signs....so far what i have tested on it is accurate to the 't'.
http://www.truestarsign.com/
birth signs may not really describe a persons personality...but more helps them align with their purpose here. if i had the choice to use tools to spark my inner self after being incarnated, the humans ideas of 'signs' in the sky would be a pretty good tool to use, as an awakened because it has been something that is woven deep in human history, it would be something that your higher self 'knows' it would have contacts with the information of human history and the 'idealized' signs in the sky. the question is...would your higher self come as a 'past position' according to earths position...or would the self be expecting its self to seek the present positions of these signs.
im going with the present positions and finding them very important. its like somewhere in my mind, i could feel a 'tilt' inside me happen, when i first observed the true placing in the sky of where the sun was when i was born. its like i could feel a jolt of '23 degree' change in me.
:d
forgive if i need corrected anywhere....and please correct me! :)

the astronomy & astrology of v407 cygni's stellar explosion
v407 cygni stelar nova explosion
v407 cygni is a "symbiotic variable" star, which are close interacting binaries (pairs of stars) usually containing a red giant star and a hotter, smaller white dwarf star. binaries often orbit a common center of gravity and nest inside a shared nebulosity of stellar dust.
an unusually bright and unexpected outburst from what was thought to be a rather mundane and slightly variable star in the constellation cygnus was detected by two japanese astronomers, koichi nishiyama (fukuoka, japan) and fujio kabashima (saga, japan), in images taken on march 10, 2010 (10:48 ut). an independent discovery of this outburst was also made by tadashi kojima. this indicates a slow nova outburst that may have been in progress since 1936. this article explores the timely discovery and significant placement of v407 in cygnus and sidereal aquarius.
lying in the northern heavens upon the galactic equator we find cygnus the swan, also called the northern galactic cross. deneb, tail of the swan, is the principal star of cygnus and marks the top (head) of the northern galactic cross. like sadr, heart of the swan, deneb lies along the galactic plane, but is quite close to the most northern point along the galactic plane--the primordial origin--which marks the location of earth's pole at the start of earth's ~25,000-year precessional cycle. this is a point of unity consciousness in the "evolutionary cycle of the soul," which is created by earth's precessional cycle. this is where earth's pole lies at rest, infused in the plane of galactic light. deneb is the first primary star that earth's pole encounters as earth's pole lifts itself from its slumber in earth's precessional cycle. it thus is the messianic head of the precessional cycle of the holy cross--of the evolutionary cycle of the soul. administrative deneb, a star more than a hundred times the diameter of our sun, with a very high luminosity, governs the first of the seven heavens (evolutionary epochs) in the earth's precessional cycle. deneb embodies our unadulterated androgynous pure soul essence before fragmentation into race, sex, or creed. deneb inspires us to stand in the awareness of our pure soul essence, in this wholeness and to participate from the maturity of unity consciousness, unbiased and beyond the segregations and categorizations common to modern-day mass-consciousness.
the pelican nebula near v204 & deneb of cygnus
pelican nebula ionization front
the pelican nebula is located a few degrees east of deneb in the constellation cygnus, about 1,800 light-years distant from earth. the image was taken by the mosaic ccd camera of the mayall 4-meter reflector telescope at kitt peak national observatory in arizona, usa; and was produced by noao survey program "deep imaging survey of nearby star-forming clouds" image credit: john bally (u. colorado), bo reipurth (u. hawaii)/noao/aura/nsf
the zodiacal longitude of v407 cygni enters sidereal aquarius at the "angel point" of the zodiak--the center of the sidereal sign of aquarius. v407 cygni exactly conjoins hydor and lambda of aquarius. it also conjoins the very southern star alpha hydra.
aquarius is of vision and creativity, revolutionary and unpredictable, original, eccentric and innovative. aquarians support "the future well being of humanity." they are visionaries seeking to support humanitarian pursuits especially in the arts and sciences, an evolved societal structure, that which the nourishing flowing waters of the waterbearer are intended.
v407 cygni's zodiacal longitude emphasizes the essence of revolutionary and humanitarian aquarius. hydor, lambda aquarius, lies in and guides the stream of the flowing waters of the humanitarian waterbearer. hydor (which simply means water), like the stars of the urn from which the waters flow, sadalmelik, sadachbia, seat, zeta and eta, is a star of fortuity. this zodiacal location is also related to varuna, goddess of the water's of life, and who invites us to allow nature's way to weave its course. directly conjoining hydor of aquarius is alpha hydrus (not to be confused with hydra). classically, alpha hydrus is the tail of hydrus, yet some modern renderings show it as the head. hydrus is a very southern constellation, lying at the south ecliptic pole. as such, it is of the soul collective's fundamental essence--a protogenoi of life, specifically the fundamental nourishing primordial waters from which life emerges. alpha hydrus articulates our fundamental basic needs of life--that which the entire human family requires for its basic existence--the needs of the people to live--that which should be denied to none.

on the night of 10-11 november 1619, while stationed in neuburg (near ulm), germany, descartes experienced a series of three powerful dreams or visions which he later claimed as a profound influence upon his life. in the first of these three dreams, descartes found himself buffeted and thrown down by a powerful whirlwind while walking near a college. in the second, he was awoken by an inexplicable thunder or explosion-like sound in his head to see sparks coming from the stove in his room. in the third dream, he finds a great dictionary and an anthology of ancient latin poets on his bedside table. in the latter book, he reads a verse which begins, "what path shall i follow in life?" descartes concluded from these visions that the pursuit of science would prove to be, for him, the pursuit of true wisdom and a central part of his life's work.[8]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/rené_descartes
rené descartes 31 march 1596 – 11 february 1650
descartes frequently sets his views apart from those of his predecessors. in the opening section of the passions of the soul, a treatise on the early modern version of what are now commonly called emotions, descartes goes so far as to assert that he will write on this topic "as if no one had written on these matters before". many elements of his philosophy have precedents in late aristotelianism, the revived stoicism of the 16th century, or in earlier philosophers like st. augustine. in his natural philosophy, he differs from the schools on two major points: first, he rejects the analysis of corporeal substance into matter and form; second, he rejects any appeal to ends—divine or natural—in explaining natural phenomena.[3] in his theology, he insists on the absolute freedom of god’s act of creation.

i'm thinking some sort of solution to the oil spill will be found:
theres already a massive amount of interest and number of people "brainstorming" solutions on the internet. the grassroots attempts to get ideas out there for how to deal with this is immense - not so sure they are listening although bp does have a phone number at which you can pitch your ideas on this site: www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com
from what i've heard about this jupiter uranus conjunction, there is supposed to be upheaval in a technological / innovation sense, lots of "truth" - and political instability. i think it may refer to the downfall of the corporatocracy as truth gets out about this disaster being a sham, and the efforts to date being sub par. perhaps bp will declare chapter 11 (as i suspect they are planning) and saddle the taxpayers with the cleanup - this could lead to the release by government of technologies to assist in the cleanup? thats the optimistic view anyhow - i do think we will see something interesting happen this weekend, on a world scale, i feel it in my bones - had the same feeling before the oil spill, except this time its not so negatively charged.

the moon joins jupiter and uranus today to add some emotion to the equation. but saturn, just gone direct, has been holding these in opposition for some time now. i see this saturn retro period over the virgo libra cusp and the opposition as the struggle between the status quo and new beginnings (duh!), with a lot of delusion thrown in from both sides. when saturn crosses into libra and we could hope for a bit of a break, it conjuncts mars, then venus also, with still, jupiter and uranus in opposition (july 30 thru aug 8). through all this pluto is square the two and, from end july, approximately conjuct the north node. it is positively fateful! it doesn't look easy at all. lines of expansion are open between the jupiter-uranus conjunction and mars, and between the chiron-neptune conjunction and saturn. around jul 9 mercury and venus join the expansion configuration so then we might see a loosening of the situation until it hardens up beginning august. the configuration seems to indicate a mexican stand-off. with all these 'obstacles', i am trying to figure out how to use the lines of expansion. any ideas? the chiron-neptune influence on saturn: rather than confront the status quo with enthusiasm and wild ideas, use chiron and neptune energies to change authoritarian structure, but what is that in action? and mars is feeding that confrontation? really! any ideas? makes me wish i opted to sit this one out! gotta be something coming up i wouldn't want to miss !

the nature and function of uranus within this solar structure is one of freedom from the known. the primary urge to explore, challenge, liberate, revolt and free oneself from conditioning expressed through saturn(also the co-ruler of aquarius on the lower octave). as uranus moves into aries this urge intensifies and becomes more urgent. aries demands the essential freedom needed to explore any and all experiences, urges and desires it deems necessary to become what it seeks to be. aries is also the seat of anger. on a collective level, and i believe this is manifesting now within this time stream, this could be expressed as the collective reaction to efforts to hold back the collective desire toward change and freedom by the established order. within the collective consciousness, as i sense it, is the building urge and desire toward unity and freedom from what has been known up to this point in history. uranus moving into aries as saturn moves into libra is impeccable timing in the cosmic scheme.
as we accelerate within the time line leading toward 2012, it is no coincidence that jupiter has moved to join uranus in expanding and deepening the collective urge toward freedom. there will be little patience for the established order of fear, restriction and co-dependent behavior that defines what has been known up until now. this is the challenge we are being handed. having the courage(aries)to free ourselves from co-dependent relationships(saturn/libra). having the willingness to go it alone(aries)if necessary. aries rules the electrical nature of fire. it is like lightening on the plain. couple this nature with the energetic nature of uranus(sudden insights, revelation and events)and you can see the potential for fireworks, flashes of revelations, sudden inspiration, powerful intuitions from out of nowhere. you can see the possibilities.
this could manifest in many ways in established relationships, whether personal or collective, as fear of change, resistance to new ideas and experiences, sudden events that threaten the established order(saturn opp. uranus). now, color this with the aries/libra expression of energy, the addition of jupiter and the often overlooked square of pluto in capricorn to this whole energetic array and the potential for change and transformation(however painful)is nothing short of miraculous!
i have been an astrologer for most of my fifty-two years. it has always comforted me to witness just how perfectly precise and wise the timing of events manifest. it affords me a level of peace within what appears chaotic. a modicum of understanding as i witness the unfolding of the fullness of time in our march toward knowledge and ultimate unity. have courage(aries)in the days ahead. trust your intuition(jupiter)and the promptings of the higher mind(jupiter conj. uranus). this will be an excellent time to practice remembering your thought just before you experience a manifestation of synchronicity. write down sudden insights, dreams, and intuitions that repeat again and again. these are the types of messages that uranus sends us. this is the kind of information that is trying to break through. this is a wonderful time to be alive. blessed be!

indeed!
you would be hard pressed to "use" chiron / neptune. i'd say it's more of something that only needs your embrace. maybe something of a mirror into your healing destiny. they are in my home/foundation sector, so i'm not even sure what it means for me.
mars is the action; where doing comes in.
uranus + jupiter inside the first degree of the zodiac.
awakening + "higher" expansion inside the first degree of the natural house of personal identity.
awakening higher self with i am.
sounds good anyway...

here is a great explanation for the current religious hotpoint. surly, your are hearing and feeling it. i know i am, publicly and privately. this is good advice should we find ourselves in frustration or in argument.
annortelee.com
mercury is stationing and moving slowly retrograde. he is sitting right on the degree of the sun and saturn/pluto opposition taking place on 9-11world trade center attacks. mars and venus are sitting on the usa’s saturn and new york city’s ascendant. old soul wounds will be surfacing for under this moon for us to deal with emotionally. the moon in pisces is highly intuitive, very sensitive and deeply receptive. that is why the proposed community center and mosque planned for three blocks from the former site of the collapsed world trade center is provoking such craziness across the nation. and you thought you’d emotionally handled 9-11!?
the moon in pisces is the recipient of a sesquiquadrate from mars and venus in libra suggesting emotional stresses around relationships and sensitive reactions to how partnerships are proceeding (or not proceeding). venus and mars in libra suggest there is can be a bit of a tendency to blame the other person rather than owning or taking responsibility for your own behavior. the south node in cancer is sesquiquadrate to neptune in aquarius so we may have a great deal of difficulty in seeing our role in the situation.
when i read for folks, i often am amazed at how the transits that appear in their chart are reflected by the people they have attracted into their life to help them realize their soul’s path. the people you have attracted into your life ~ good, bad or indifferent ~ are there to help you and your soul grow to be the best you possible.
so if you love them or are indifferent to them, no problem. continue. however, if they are driving you crazy, they are merely a reflection of what your chart says you need to figure out to get to where you are going or supposed to go in your life. they are an area you still have to resolve and figure out. those difficult, irritating, annoying and crazy making people or situations reflect an area of your own life where you are struggling to get clear. bless them for illuminating your issue. take full and complete ownership of your issue. that does not mean you have to “fix them”. or nag them. or yell at them. or make them do it. they get to fix themselves. or they get to not fix themselves. maybe they like themselves just the way they are. it does mean you have to get clear on why they are driving you so crazy right now.
essentially, it is all about choice. saturn, mars and venus are squaring the nodes of destiny. their midpoints are exactly square the nodes of destiny. we face a choice. we face a major, major choice.

when i made this thread i intended for it to be observances of astronomical observations...but the mods changed the title so there may be some confusion here.
astronomical and astrological are not the same, this was something i tried to stress in some of the posts here.
i noticed people on the past page saying uranus is in aries....or mars and saturn are in libra. going my astrology and its imaginary wheel, then yes, that would be the positions. but my point in this thread was that astrology does not offer positions we can observe in the night sky today.
1) astrology wheel is completly imaginary, made up around 2000 years ago, with a fixed wheel of 12 signs that have equals amounts of space. if we look in the sky, the constellations do not have equal amounts of space....and also, the sun travels through 13 signs, not 12, this also causes many positions given by astrology to not be something that can be observed.
2) ever 72 years, the our path around the sun seems to make the sun move through the constellations, moving the opposite way of the earths spin through a year. the yearly spin causes the the sun to seem to appear in different signs about every month or so (remember the constellations are of different sizes in true observations)...and even on the equal amount of space wheel, this still causes the sun to seem to move over time...meaning a virgo by astrology would be a leo by astronomy.
3) this also causes the debate of the 'ages'. the tropical wheel says our ages started with aries about 6000 years ago (ring a bell for the start of man and woman?). we all know man has been around much longer, we have things like the sphinx that faces leo at the spring equinox about 12,5000 years ago, we have the shafts in the pyramids that seem to show us earths 23 degree tilt, we have the egyptians that knew sirius had a cycle of 26,000 years like the great year does and they based alot of their info on sirius for keeping time, we have about 12,000 years ago the time when atlantis seems to fall and great wisdom was already being known in egypt like the cosmic pathways, we have a distance of 26,000 light years from the center of our galaxy to us. i think, our age's started with leo....i think the egyptians left a marker to show us this. i think they used astronomy, true observation (and not a fixed non changing wheel). astrology, since they use a wheel of equal amounts of space and leave out ophiuchus...are saying the age of aquarius is here or coming in 2012. astronomy, true observation, shows that we wont enter the age of aquarius for another 500 years or so. now.....the funny thing about this 500 years from now time is where it falls on a astronomical wheel....sitting straight across from the age of leo. we are soon going to reach this half way point, around our great year.
i guess i cant debate it too much, for the thread title is 'astrological'....but i just want to be clear of the intent for the thread.
right now jupiter and uranus can be seen and observed in pisces (our current age). right now mars, saturn, and venus can be seen and observed in virgo. right now, face the sun until mid sept. and you are facing the sun sitting in leo, not virgo.
i have not posted here at dc in a long time, if people are interested in this though, i will keep up with this thread.
hope to not disappoint anyone...

i can't deny the actual science of astronomy you list.
i also can not deny the very apparent reality of astrology. i have been studying and researching astrology for many years, and i am more assured of its reality than i am of any other metaphysical area. you can rename every aspect of it and every constellation, and i am sure its effects will not change. all is one, and everything is a reflection of itself- this is the reality of the energy of the planets and the universe.

this is a great picture of how tiny our planetary system really is. our massive fusion ball- the center? ha! :)

hello 12th! hope all is well and i hope i did not come off as being closed to the idea of modern astrology. i just dont think many realize, modern astrology is missing some stuff.
if you feel the signs are important...let me ask you this...do you think its important to include the constellation of ophiuchus in a wheel since the sun sits in ophiuchus every year longer then it does in scorpio? many would not know this...that the sun travels through more then 12 constellations. one of the things that made me start looking at astrology deeper was that my youngest child in astrology is said to be a sagittarius....but the sun was really in ophiuchus on his birth.
when i really began to observe the cosmos and try to understand the working of the energies and the mechanics of the earths tile and position to the cosmos i came up with a personal understanding of my astrology signs do resonate so much with people.
when you look at astronomy and astrology, often a persons sign differs by just one sign. example is astrology says im a virgo, astronomy says im leo. my understanding of this (again, not claiming facts, just what i feel i have learned when asking for guidance in this journey) was that a persons 'past sign' will resonate with them because it comes to them more naturally. the true position (astronomy) sign is not something as much as natural or second nature to them but its more something they are to work on in this life, something that has a deeper meaning to them of their journey and path they came here to work with. not so much of describing their natural nature....but more their purpose and what they need to work on...as well can bring them out of the shell of their old sign and help them leap forward in what they came here to achieve. virgo, is very natural to me, it suited me in my younger days very well and still is natural to me. if i was to look at an astronomy wheel.....'virgo' is my past/old sign. when i found out the sun really sat in leo at my birth...all sorts of strange things started to happen...it was if the universe was showing me things in many directions. when i stepped out to observe leo for the first time after knowing this...saturn was conjuncting the heart of the lion. i feel i had downloads of information come into me. 2 weeks after me observing this 'new leo' and then telling my family about this discovery...my mother had a phenomenal nde that brought me family all sorts of 'new things'. during her experience, she was told to tell me, to keep watching the stars. she saw a being in her nde that looked like a angel, with the face of my youngest child. she talked alot about the stars in fact, especially orion and its connecting with the people that came to egypt. so i also, have reasons to keep observing this new idea of bringing astronomy and the practices within astrology, back together.
carla explained to me one day that the signs are archetypes of us all, that we are of all the signs. i think this is wise to look at the cosmos and signs this way....when we are ready to look, we find that we are of them all. some might offer us things we dont want to look at within ourselves, some might feel much more easy to accept and see within ourselves.
something right now i find important that many would not know when looking to astrology for understanding is that mercury is retrograding....in sextans. astrology would tell you mercury is in retrograde....but its not going to tell you its in sextans (outside the wheel).
due to earths tilt and wobble, the sun seems to move over time in reflection to the background of the stars. i was born on aug. 30 1975....if i was born on the same month and day 2000 years ago...i would of been born a virgo. today, im a leo. 2000 years from now if i returned to be born on that same month and day, i would be a cancer (according to true observation of where the sun is). if the earths positions change to the perspective we view the sun ad signs....maybe we should be aware of that, instead of using a fixed wheel.
i most certainly have faith in the energies of the cosmos....but i think using a fixed wheel that never changes and does not acknowledge the 13 signs as well as when the sun, moon, or planets move outside the wheel....only can give us limited understanding.
just sharing my thoughts....each to their own always

lv,
i did think you were closed off. i am sorry.
i don't think it is important to be as astronomically precise as you would like astrology to be. my reason is that astrology is only a window, or a mirror, to our existence. that being said, it is entirely too complex and complicated to pin down as an exact science. this was my purpose for linking the picture of the milky way. there are astral bodies (planets, asteroids, stars) all around that affect us, or reflect "us." i certainly have my own opinions of how to interpret them based on my own observations, and i have accepted modern astrology as a springboard for my own perception. in light of this, your desires to include more details of constellations and astronomical preciseness is fully recognized and accepted (because i accept you for you). your opinion is what is resonating with you at this time. i would encourage you not to block/wall off what modern astrology has to offer, and dive in, trusting your higher self to guide you to what is necessary.
as much as i would like to explain all that i have learned and observed regarding astrology, i can't do it in a post. i don't think your looking for a lesson from me anyway ;) . i would like to say what astrology is to me though. i use astrology more as a retrospective look into my life and my relationships. predictions and looking to possible future scenarios is entertaining, but i find solace in knowing that the universe has a "tune" designed for me. i can find real evidence of this "tune" through planetary positions and relations. aspects and their interpretations for my personal self as well as relationships with others give me great insight into why things happen as they do. ( i searched for your bday so i could give a real example. no go).
a bit more. there is so much more than a person's sun sign that i hardly focus on it. a person's ascendant is more important, imo, and next in line would be their moon. then there is mars! and pluto! etc. etc. :d i'll stop now.
love and blessings,

greetings!
i have been reading willcock's book the source field investigations.
in it, he states repeatedly that the current time, being the cusp between the precessional ages of pisces and aquarius, is significant above other previous cusps. that in fact this time is the endpoint of the entire precessional great year. and, as such, that's what makes this present time so important. i have seen this same claim made elsewhere. it seems to have a common consensus amongst "new age" thought.
i find this conclusion puzzling. why would the end of the piscean age, moving into the aquarian age, be the culmination of the great year? since pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and aries the first, i would have thought that the cusp between aries and pisces would have signaled the end of one great year and the beginning of another. whereas the cusp between the 12th sign, pisces, and the 11th sign, aquarius, does not denote anything particularly unique or culminating.
thanks for helping me to understand the logic here, if such is predicated upon it.

hello electrum
i'm reading davids book at the moment also. if you've got the time to watch these lectures by mr astrotheology santos bonacci through you will have a lot of valuable information about this and much more.
[please private message transiten for link to a 3 1/2 hour vid]
he says some generalizing things about pple born in the signs and also something else regarding personal astrology that i don't agree with, but the other parts are great.
