New book on 2012?

i just noticed a new book out on 2012 on the book shelves in my supermarket. (i'm not 100% clear on the guidelines for book titles, so moderators, if i step over the line please *purge* me.)

it was written by the same author who wrote lots of stuff on et's, and his first name is whitney. i only read the back cover before i formed an opinion of it & put it back on the shelf. some people seem to be exploiting the interest in 2012. does anybody else have any thoughts on it?

the whole 2012 industry is ramping up ... cynics may say that it's just the new-agers peddling a new brand of candy; galling on the gullible. but those on the inside know the real story.

yes, there are pundits out there.

1) they peddle fear
2) they peddle doom and gloom
3) they peddle disaster economics and encourage you to build bunkers and buy perma-safe foods

but the real message is that of joy and change.

there are so many threads tied up into the 2012 meme that it can sometimes lead to cloud the mind with conflicting information.

i just keep the following 2 principles in mind:

--- that which is truth empowers the individual

--- that which is untruth, disempowers the individual

how do you feel after reading some of these 2012 books, and seeing some of these 2012 videos? uplifted, joyous, bright, empowered? or despondent, doomy, gloomy, retreating?

judge a medicine by its effects.

true 2012 material boosts the soul into a higher plane.

that's a very clear & succinct answer to my question, ggw_bach. now i will be able to mentally stick the "doom & gloom" stuff on 2012 into the "2012 industry" shelf, like i needed to do. thanks!

i love that distinction too. in fact i've used it a lot for other things, such as any time i talk to people about religion & spirituality. it really helps.
