dear friends,

i received this email earlier today and sent it to jmj for his opinions which i've included.

re-member this...

there is no end, no beginning...

there is only change...

be well, be love.

light eye,

i agree with everything sketched in the summary. yes, as i’ve been saying for many years, the maya calendar does not stop or end in 2012. regarding “pointing fingers” at those that have misconstrued and miscalculated the maya calendar dates – two things to consider. i believe it is okay to critique and correct misconceptions that are often aggressively projected in the marketplace. the intent can be motivated by a desire to help truth emerge, rather than vindictive name calling. i’ve learned the hard way that if one just ignores those who try to appropriate and distort the maya tradition, you will be dealing with a much bigger beast at some point down the road. this is not an easy situation, but one needs to stand for truth. someone said that evil only requires that good people look the other way. evil is a strong word; we could also simply recognize that dis-unity can be easily healed once we all come to agreement on the fundamental facts if the calendar – such as “what day is it today?” (which corrects the arguelles/dreamspell error) and that the 13-baktun cycle ends on december 21, 2012 (which corrects the calleman error). naming the origin of the “miscalculations”, as i just did, is intended to identify the source of the error so that hose who are following one or both of those positions will take a closer look at the origin of their belief. the alternative to the two distortions? the authentic maya calendar.

it is then said, in the summary below, that we will “return to the astronomical configurations” present 26,000 years ago. this appears to be an indirect acknowledgement of the astronomical reconstructions i have offered, notably in march of 1998 at the maya calendar congress hosted by hunbatz men in merida.

visiting temple and sacred sites with the intention of awakening is an important activity. in mexico it is made very difficult by the government’s refusal to allow maya shaman into the sites to do rituals. hunbatz men has been in the trenches with this situation for a very long time. perhaps we should attempt to engage a more political direct and formal appeal so that the doors can be opened on this level and the inevitable clashes will not end up fueling negative reactions. visiting other sacred sites – the approach is reminiscent of the harmonic convergence. i actually believe we need to visit and nurture the sacred places within our hearts rather than try to find parking at physical locations. i’d prefer a deep vipassana mediation over a long flight to cambodia any day.

yes, there is a huge amount of negativity and misinformation around 2012. “counteract” is perhaps a poor word choice, however. it is not a war in which we try to kill negativity. the spiritual work is one of transforming the old/negative patterns for a rebirth or cosmogenesis. it’s predictable that ego will hold onto illusion at the end of the cycle. we need to transform this attachment to illusion within ourselves while we also work to change our institutions and the way we treat each other and do business in the in the world.

best wishes,

john major jenkins

november, 2008

to the caring women and men of the world:

below you will find a greeting and explanation from the grand maya itza council regarding 2012. i agreed with council members to do everything i can to get this word out to the world. it is simply this:

1) their calendars do not end in 2012 - soon after 2012 we, on planet earth, will experience the return to the astronomical configurations present when one of the calendars was begun 26,000 years ago ......and we simply experience that day and move on into a new cycle.....of another
26,000 years......

the grand maya itza council seems to be a little ethnocentric . out of 52 sacred sites, not one is in canada? and five are in the states!

here's a link to a listing of all the sacred sites in canada that were overlooked:

astraya,

i can understand your disappointment, however i would offer this:

if you know of a sacred site or power point, why not follow the "procedure" that they recommend and "activate it" yourself?

understandably it had to be pretty difficult to narrow the list to 52...

i like jenkins' statement:

i actually believe we need to visit and nurture the sacred places within our hearts rather than try to find parking at physical locations.

yesterday evening i had another series of "energetic events" for lack of better words...

while in this state, i had some very clear images relating to this and cahokia mounds. for what its worth, i grew up about 20 minutes from there and have visited 4 times, 2 this year.

for some reason i feel called to attend this, or at the very least, to send energy to those attending this event. strange, but in reflecting upon the intensity of this "daydream", the phrase "be an active participant in events such as this"... its hard to explain...

in writing this, i also wanted to retouch upon what astraya said, and the quote from jmj. currently i live very close to the eastern band of cherokee and there are many sacred sites and powerpoints in this region, but not on the list. thats ok. perhaps i'll take a few daytrips to visit these sites, keeping this "effort" in mind. i'm not one for "rituals", so i think intent here is more important...

brothers and sisters everything happens for a reason. dont be upset about where sacred sites are located. find it interesting enough that you even know where they are at. many do no even know nor seek. all is about to be peaceful again.

take care

enjoyed the site but i have got to go home.

hello!

i think intent is very important but also the words we use are important.
when mentioning "father" in the context of someone hearing and understanding all your pains or joys, it's interesting to note that mostly on this earth it's the mother who takes on this role;)

in my personal life though, it was neither. i had two mothers that didn't, one was schizophrenic and the other jealous and my father was kind but weak and looked the other way. finally though we have contact again and i know he always did love me in his way.

if there's any way of expressing "god" and i think there's no word or image for that in our limited understanding and perception here in 3d, i would at least every time i say "father in heaven" also say "mother in heaven". without a father and a mother, no life in 3d. by the way "i'm in heaven" means i'm here, in contact with myself, and the self is neither masculine nor feminine but both.

at the moment i'm tired of words, words, words, longing for the wordless feeling of contact and a song without words filled with feelings of thankfulness.

found within one of the hindu vedas is a phrase that i have remembered ever since i read it...what i don't remember is which of the vedas i read it in. in any case, it says:

this is that, that is that, you are that, i am that, and that is all that is!

i have come to the personal belief that the creator is not, cannot, be limited in any way, especial in attempting to define it as mother, father, or personalizing it at all. the creator is a loving, giving, receiving energy which is the source of all that is. that i am a part of it is satisfactory and only in observing the creator as self or other self, can i assign human traits such as gender or relationship.

all this in my humble and falible opinion,

hi hoppppe,

there are quite a few energy spots /sacred sites in the balkans. these are two along with some excerpts of information about them.

sarmizegetusa - romania

"sarmizegetusa, located in the sacred mountains of romania consists of the remains of a fortified city and sacred area. the most imprtant remnant of the sacred area is sarmizegetusa regia, a large nearly circular astronomical temple. what remains of the temple are a horseshoe-shaped wooden structure surrounded by a stone circle making it a combined woodhenge and stonehenge. the temple opens towards the south east with a fireplace facing the direction of sunrise at winter solstice."

lepenski vir - serbia

"lepenski vir is an important mesolithic archeoogical site situated in serbia in the central balkan peninsula."

"numerous piscine sculptures and peculiar architecture are testimony to a rich social and religious life led by the inhabitants and the high cultural level of these early europeans."

"seven successive settlements were discovered on the lepinski vir site with remains of 136 residential and sacred buildings dating from 6500 bc to 5500bc."

"all the houses share a very distinct shape, built according to a complicated geometric pattern. the basis of each of the houses is a circle segment of exactly 60 degrees constructed in a manner of an equilateral triangle. this unique layout demonstrates the level of mathematical and geometric knowledge of the inhabitants of lepenski vir."

lepenski vir is well known in eastern and central europe for its archeological and sacred significance.

it is on the sedona ley line.

hope this helps
