there is a spot on the course i manage where you must hit your tee shot through some high voltage power lines. amazingly, when you get the ball between two of the lines, which are a good few feet apart, the lines arc electricity. the arc of electricity is visible and hits the golf ball. the result is the golf ball flying off in an angular direction into the woods.

when i first saw this a couple of years ago it never sat well with my then paradigm of electrical science. that paradigm being the school tought one. when i read the section in richard hoaglands book dark mission about the energy created by a spinning spheres, eureka. i had assumed that the electricity was comming from the electric lines. turns out due to the hyperdimensional energy created by the ball that is spinning from 2800-3500 rpm the electricity was comming from the ball, and into the lines.

this is repeatable on a reliable basis. so long as you can grip it and rip it.:d

appropriately observed. this means more than one would realize. now put it to work and put this in your car!

again, on another more questioning path are we/you sure about what is happening?
is the spinning golf ball sending energy to the lines?
is the spinning golf ball in a different electrical potential and this is being balanced by the lines / or by the golf ball
is the torsion field introduced by the spinning ball shorting the high tension wires?
are the spinning magnetic properties of the lines becoming attracted to the ball?
is the energy coming from a third source, not the ball, not the lines but....

it still must be a cool effect and a goal in itself for those who chose to spend their time driving balls into the universe

maybe it's the number of dimples on the ball, 432 if i remember correctly. by the way, what club do you use for the shot?

driver, my ball speed is about 160 mph.
