wow! i clicked on the above link & what a great article. of course i agree that environment plays a large role in development of living organisms in conjunction with the actual article. there is an incredible medieval looking picture there of the earth, moon, sun and stars. i wish i had it on a t-shirt or windows wallpaper! its called 'peering through the cosmic sphere'. google for high quality images if you like! its cool! already snagged it.
