i'm posting this for a bit of a guidance. i am having trouble contacting my source i am thinking because of my worry about this subject. which i am trying to subside and let be.

i'm only 22. i feel very old for my physical age and yet i am working a job i am not happy at. i do it, yet i do not enjoy it, which is common for most people. yet money is needed in this world. i want to get a degree and go to college. im debating between psychology or metaphysics. both are loves of mine and i feel fit each other very well. i have been into psychology my whole life even as a young kid and i have been able to give people direction and advice my whole life and i love doing it. i love helping people and it gives me more satisfaction than anything else knowing someone got helped by things i gave them. reason i started my website to spread words of oneness and give inspiration to others on there journey.

my question is this, who has gone to school for psychology and metaphysics, either or. what was it like, whats the benefits and what do you feel is the better choice? i would be going full time and hold a part time job to make ends meet until im done with college. i feel metaphysics is a deep love for me and i would love to have a masters or higher in that field. psychology as well, yet i know its a bit more challenging of a field because of the variety in patients and clients.

i thank all for any help,
love and light

hi john
i felt drawn to psychology for similar reasons as you mention. i did an open university course in the uk - a supported distance learning programme at degree level as i planned to do a post graduate conversion diploma and retrain. i did very well and got a distinction but i stopped after my first course. the reason was i felt the discipline and the study of the science of psychology was too restrictive and regimented. probably some form of counselling training would have better satisfied my interests and better suited my personality.

two things, whatever you decide it would probably be wise to thoroughly explore each option, perhaps reading some of the texts - that will help give you a feel for how the course will progress. you need to make the decision that's right for you, so if you're feeling torn between the two perhaps you need to ponder and explore some more. if you still feel undecided is there any way you can combine the two areas of study?
good luck whatever you decide - either choice would undoubtably be interesting and enriching.

what kind of psychologist do you want to be? like a therapist?

my mom is a liscenced certified social worker and she finds her job both very challenging and rewarding in helping families become whole, happy and healthy. one thing to remember is that the healing largely is up to the family. you can't let yourself get down if the client is not willing to recieve or accept your help and change.

i know it is much less time and effort to get a degree in social work as compared to psychology. you could get your degree in one of those and then specialize in metaphysics like a "metaphysical psychologist/therapist" like a brian weiss or dolores cannon.

just some thoughts for you. i know what it is like to be making decisions like that because i had to do the same not long ago.

cheers!
