View Full Version : What would be your 'Last Lecture'?

this is in reference to the randy pausch video that has been circulating, the professor at carnegie mellon who was participating in a lecture series, titled the 'last lecture'. in his case, it is apparently true, as he is/was dying of liver cancer, and this was to be his last lecture.

if we really have only 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 years left in 'linear' time on this material realm... what would our 'last lecture' be? i ask this question because in light of all the material that exists from so many difference sources (science, religion, spirituality, humanistic), 2011 or 2012 (depending on which source you believe) is a year where we have to 'put down our pencils', and turn in our tests for 'grading'. i say that as a bit of tongue in cheek, but for anyone who can remember standardized testing, this seems like a good analogy.

so, if what we are creating in this realm won't 'matter' (pun intended) in another 4 years, then what does that say about the remaining time? if i truly believe that i will move on, either to another 3d experience somewhere else, or to the new joys of a 4d experience, what would i concentrate my efforts, my individual energy on? this is basically the same as the 'my purpose' question that has been floating around, but perhaps with a more critical 'time' 'deadline' associated with it. i allow this question to really be with me occasionally, but i have to tell you, i am not sure i have an answer that will move me in great directions. on the one hand, it seems like we should all have a 'bucket list', and striving to make that a material reality. on the other hand, one could ask, what difference does it make?

certainly, i guess, the answer is not to worry about all the things you normally would if you thought about dying, that is, are all the bills paid off, do i have enough life insurance to provide for my family, etc. and yet, those things do enter my thoughts. but, if there will be 'no-one' here to collect the life insurance, i guess that really doesn't matter. for that matter, it is amazing the level of things that most of us are fretting about in our 'material' life that certainly will have no relavance in 3-4 short years.

so, having reflected on all that, i guess i desire to put together the agenda for my 'last lecture'. i don't see that as a material thing i need to do, but as a willingness from my soul to make sure i share and experience what i can towards my growth before i leave. and, if it turns out that we are all still here on october 12, 2011, or december 22, 2012 (again, depending on what you believe), then i guess i would have made my life a better place, and isn't that a worthwhile 'investment'?

so, what is your 'last lecture"? assuming you believe you have just over 3-4 years to present it?

hi bill,

excellent question presenting us with much food for thought.

i think many of us will be presenting our last lecture with lots of love. see the thread 'has anyone else been feeling this?' in general discussions where it becomes apparent that heart chakras are being opened and expanded as we become enlightened.

for myself, i yearn to speak to my family and loved ones, and anyone who will listen, about the principles of the law of one and the loving unity that exists around us if only we try to see it. so my last lecture is definitely tied into that topic. since there is no one in my family group or circle of friends who will listen to my 'lecture' at this point in time, it's an on-going project that for now i must silently act out through an attitude of love, peace, forgiveness, acceptance. right now, it's sort of a pantomime, i guess;)

hopefully, my actions will prepare the way for the time when ears will be ready to listen and eyes will be ready to see. when that happens, my last lecture will be all about love. love on every level. universal love.

thanks for asking:)

love and light,
nancy
